Can I add an Alfine DI2 or Nuvinci N380 Harmony/HSync to my Bosch CX and get full integration?

Hi,

I have a Bosch Performance CX mid drive in a Cube frame. It has the usual 11-36 cassette and derailleurs, etc. I have seen the Bosch OEM videos showing the Shimano DI2, Rohhoff and Nuvinci IGH’s with gears being changed automatically and using just the Intuiva display and controller for gear changes on the Nuvinci.

I would like to consider adding a Nuvinci N380 with the Harmony controller and a cable to plug into the Bosch CX motor.

Ok, so, will this work? If there are any firmware or setting changes can a Bosch dealer program this or will it simply not work?

Thanks.

@Voz, it’s not possible in simple terms since it’s not possible for a dealer to reprogram a motor without the OEM’s support and in this case I highly doubt Cube will do that.

That being said it technically could be possible to install these hubs on your bike provided the frame can accommodate them. I do think it’s not really worth the trouble and potentially too risky to make this sort of change as there is a good chance your motor won’t perform as it should and it’s possible that it with throw an error. The motor is specifically programmed to the cog sizes and type of drivetrain.

I hope this helps.

Chris, I feel I know you already after seeing you in so many EBR reviews! Thanks for this feedback, I suspected as much, just good to be confirmed. Cheers.
