Buying a used Pedego City Commuter

my local Craigs list has a City Commuter with 1,800 miles for $1200
It looks like new, hs many accessories so I’d say at first glance it appears to be a great deal compared to the price of a new $3K bike.
So I’d like to ask you all your opinions and also ask for your suggestions regarding what I should know / be aware of when buying this bike with 1,800 miles.
I’m also wondering about the battery? I know a new Pedego battery is quite expensive and I have no idea of the expected life and will I need to buy a new battery shortly after buying this used bike.
I’d also like to know if it was common practice to ask the seller if I can bring it into a Pedego dealer for a quick inspection.

Thanks in advance for any reply.

The condition of the battery is the thing you want the Pedego dealer to test, they should be able to test the current/voltage and diagnose if the fuse and bms aren't working but I'm unsure if they can diagnose the cell state. It depends on several factors - did the previous owner store it outside, ride it regularly, maintain a conservative charging regimen or drain it fully each time before recharging (not recommended). Pedego have a 2 year warranty on their batteries, so if the seller had it less than that time what reason do they give for why they want to sell the bike? For peace of mind sake you could spend $500 more including shipping and get one from Crazy Lenny's, cheaper than buying a replacement battery from a Pedego dealer and you get the 2 year new warranty.

I don't think asking to take it to a Pedego dealer is common practice. I wouldn't let someone I met on Craigslist, take my bike for a while without buying it. 1,800 miles is not a lot on the pack. Both my Haibikes have over 1,600 on them and show no degrade. Although, I think that Pedego has a throttle, so all those miles could be heavy on the throttle and account for more charge cycles than I have on mine. You don't list the accessories, so can't really comment on the price.
