Does anyone know what this button is for?

When I push it, it lights up blue. When I push and hold again it turns off just like the picture!?

Looks like a battery gauge. Blue is Full. Green is 50% or somewhere close to that, maybe. Red is Low, no ride today, time to recharge.

The OP didn't say where the button is, and it certainly wasn't clear to me from the photo.
The button is on the back side of the battery at the top! It fits in the pictured part of the bike!
LBS said it’s JUST level indicator.

I’m contacting Denago because it says in the manual to turn battery OFF before charging and this button is the only thing I can find ON the battery??

Does the bike's main display still light up when the mystery button turns off the adjacent indicator light? If not, sounds like the button turns off the battery.

Not sure what you mean Jeremy. The main indicator only comes on IF the battery is snapped into the bike AFTER I power it on via the power button.

Yes Gordon. It snaps (clicks) in and a key had to be used to unsnap it from the bike and take it out.
Does it do anymore than that? For instance one click of my key locks the battery in place and the next click turns on the power.

No. It snaps into place and there is a power button on the cockpit that turns the display off and on.

That's true of mine as well regarding turning on the display but one extra turn of the key after it locks the battery is needed to send power to that button. Then when I stop and turn the key back it turns off the power and I can remove the key but the battery will still be locked in place.

Mine snaps in place. After the ride I turn OFF the display, park it in the garage, and when I insert the key and turn it, the battery pops loose so I can remove it.

It sounds a bit like when you turn the key it both turns off the battery and unlocks it from the frame at the same time. I would not like that.

Probably does. Myself, I’m okay with that unless I’m missing something and as an e bike newbie it’s probable

It would mean that if the battery is on the bike that anyone can turn on the bike without using a key.
I did buy a lock and an easily removable front basket for trips to the store.

I never plan to leave the bike unattended without locking.

Anyone can steal with or without battery access.
