Building with tube steel...no-weld method.

Hi, new to the forum but have owned a couple e-bikes for a while now.

The price of some bike accessories are through the roof, so I began looking for ways to make my own stuff.

Thing is, I don't have a welder. So, I did some research on Youtube looking for methods to build with square tube without welding.

I found this video:

First project was a bike trailer for a camping trip. This was constructed almost entirely of scrap...the tube was from an EZ-Up shelter that got destroyed in a windstorm. The wheels were off of a bike that I got from a junkyard, and the wood for the deck was pallets that I got for free.

Inaugural run, loaded to 83 lbs. I had some mild axle bend which I corrected with a brace for subsequent trips:

First camping trip. Ended up going about 20 miles total with the trailer that weekend.

My latest project was to build a front rack. Found some 1/2" square tube from an old closet organizer. On this one, I decided to bevel the ends to hide the wood a little better...

I have an "understanding" with the local trash lot/recyclers...I can get building materials for free...lol.
