Bosch Questions about CX motor and also the E shift behavior on the display

I have a new R&M Nevo Nuvinci and I noticed that when the little man in the Nuvinci window is not flat , with each revoltion of the pedals there appears to be an after surge of the engine and it is more pronounced in higher assistance levels. Is this normal?

Also when the Eshift option is on you can see an up/down arrow on either the Intuvia display or the Nyon but I only get down arrows never up?
Why?

I own two CX bikes, one with Nuvinci, neither with autoshift. This behavior does not sound right to me. At first pass, it sounds like it might be a loose sensor. I would call the shop where you bought it right away.
