Best lock for HaiBike E-Bike

Hi There,

I was wondering if anyone can I advise on what would be the best lock for my Haibike Trekking 7.0 ebik, I have just purchased my bike and I'm not sure which lock would be best to use considering the bike was very expensive!
Any help would be gratefully appriciated.

My recommendation is never to lock it outside where you don't have line of sight to your bike. It doesn't matter what lock you get, they are all defeatable. It's just a matter of time it takes to cut it, all usually less than a minute.

As with the bike/ebike explosion during the pandemic, so has the theft.

Choose whatever lock makes you feel comfortable. That's why they sell them, because no lock will prevent a theft. I've seen pictures where the thieves cut off the post and take the bike with the lock intact.

Thank you Rich, I was thinking of getting either a Kryptonite or Abus lock, They are expensive just wondering if paying the extra money is worth it or if the gold standard rating is pretty much the same across the board!

Not the best - but a cafe lock is convenient and deters opportunistic thieves while you pop in for a cup of coffee. Something like the Pro Shield Plus 5950 will mount directly to your frame and you can add chain or cable to it.

Oops, I listed the wrong lock - you would probably need the 5750L to accommodate the wider tires on your bike. The compatible ABUS chains are listed at the bottom of the product page here:
