I'd prefer 160mm if I can find them. Have found 165 ebike cranks made by RaceFace (Aeffect) but everywhere seems out of stock. There's also Miranda brand cranks but only seem to be in the U.K.
:/
Are you extremely tall or long legged? Unless you are, then longer crank arms might have more negatives than positives:
1. Increased pedal strikes/reduced clearance
2. Much more stress on the knees/reduced efficiency. Some pretty involved studies have shown that smaller diameter pedal paths are better biomechanically for both our body and the resulting wattage of improved rpms and endurance.
3. Less flex and wasted energy. Shorter arms/less flex.
Positives can be more torque in short bursts and a bit more stable platform when level pedal descending.
I'm 6' tall and now that I've been using 160-170mm crank arms exclusively for some years I'll never go back to the long style of the 90's. But hey, personal preference and everybody likes what they like.
