Add ons for existing Porteurs in Cortland Kickstarter

I noticed on the "Tech Updates" page on Faraday's site mentions about the battery extension (I don't really need that, especially at the price, but it does look very nice) and the GPS module (this I could use, though, possibly as a "Lo-Jack" for the bike, and for the metrics in the app).

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else had been looking at those add-ons. The part I'm worried about (as a gen 2 owner) is the "controller replacement." It also mentions a "New Selector" but doesn't really describe what either would entail.

Totally love the bike (I've got a Porteur) and want to spend money on more toys but not sure how hard they'd be to install
