If anyone has ever broken the mounting tabs off their Garmin Edge a solution is only a click away. I had my Edge 520 attached to an out-front mount and had an unfortunate encounter with a tree during a spill. It wasn’t until I returned home that I noticed that the GPS was clinging on by only one of the remaining tabs with the broken piece from the other side still in place. I tried several attempts at super gluing the piece back on to the plate but it would eventually come off after a couple of twists.
I then learned of a metal replacement part that is screwed and glued onto the back plate. Since it’s made of billet aluminum there is no chance of anything breaking. If only one of the original plastic tabs is broken off, you’ll have to remove the other by cutting or filing it off in order for the Dogear to fit.
