I'm giving serious consideration to this bike:

Funny you mention this.

A review of this can be found here: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/mosso-29er-750w-bbs02-first-impressions.17458/

The company that makes these ( hallomotor) is quite known on ES forum and they don't have the best reviews but do try do well.
back in 2014, I did consider this bike because it can go 30mph easily. http://www.hallomotor.com

Some of the latest batches are coming out with 25A controller. Also, it has integrated motor cutoff + Hydraulic brakes.

With DHL shipping, you're looking at ~$2350. For that money, you can get Surly Troll + 750W BBS-02 + 50V, 18Ah triangle pack from Paul at eme3ev and you get better support from Paul. The range from 50V, 18Ah battery will smoke anything on the market right now. Also, you can ask him to program the controller+ PAS for your specific preference.

That's the kind of info I need, the bad and the ugly! I can see the good myself. I don't need the speed, if I want that I'll ride the Harley. I want range and good torque, 20mph is just fine - 28mph maxxx!!!. Range is first and foremost. I'd take any of the 250-350w mid-drives, I thought I could limit the 750 B to get more range out of it.

There's no rush, I'm looking forward to seeing the new Bosch offerings this year and also what STEPS come to the US in 2015/16.

I have been dreaming of a build that will outweigh some of the turn-key mid drives both in terms of speed and range and of course the cost.

Surly Troll or Karate Monkey + Schwalbe Super Moto X tires + 50V, 22Ah triangle pack from em3ev + BBS-02 750w- 48V + Tektro Dorado 203mm rotor w/ cut off hydraulic brakes + gear shift sensor from lectric cycles + Body Float.

Now, if only Paul can release 3200mAh cells!!

It's good idea to hold on, I have heard that Haibike will be releasing some speed pedelecs with bigger battery for 2016 (well, I know nothing about it) :)

I haven't looked everywhere yet, but I don't see that much bad written in the past 12 moths about this build. There's a fair amount bad written by people out for the ultimate in speed and the 750w Bafang, but not commuter types.

I'd be interested in how aggressive Haibike will get with the speed. With the price of cells these days, they should provide about a kilowatt hour. They almost need that for the 45kph thing.
