I am hoping that someone can help or suggest how to fix these issues. Last summer I bought a replacement Emmo Hornet Xi…I had a Hornet X before that was stolen. However this had several “improvements” .One is a new colour display,how ever it is useless in any sunlight as unlike the old display it is not as bright and the glossy dash means the display is not visible.
Also it lacks many of the features of old model,such as actual voltage meter ,,old model had the usual pretty useless bar meter,, but also had an actual voltage reading.
Also the old model had audible turn signal beeper. The lack of this on new model combined with the lack of visibility on display of the flashing arrows,means it is too easy to leave signal on
And as for the odometer,well again it is hard to see except in low light,,but I did notice it seemed to be going up very quickly,,and when I checked using a GPS speedo..it went up about 4.7 km in 1KM…so despite it being purchased in early august and as it is Winnipeg,,,, was stored from early October till a couple weeks ago,..the odometer is at 9999km. I was sort of interested to see it click over,but it got to 9999 and stayed there.
I have contacted Emmo about these issues,and was told they would escalate it and maybe find a solution ,,but so far have not heard back.
I realize that many of these issues could only be resolved with possible replacing display unit with maybe an updated one,assuming that they have such a thing.
But I cant help thinking that there is some way to add a turn signal audible signal?? And somesort of reset/recalibration of odometer?
The lack of information on display obviously is probably insolvable, even the odometer being wildly inaccurate I can live with,,just if it would reset or roll over the 9999 bugs me!
However if there were someway to either brighten the display or add audible turn signal?
