2019 Turbo Vado 3.0 Motor Bolt

Hi, I have a 2019 Turbo Vado 3.0. It came with a Brose motor. Recently, the main bolt that holds the rear of the motor to the frame sheared. Does anyone know a part number and a source. My internet sleuthing has been non-productive.

Sorry I do not. I assume it is a large torx bolt and likely not something available at the hardware store. I'd call Rider Support and get one shipped....or visit your local dealer. That is almost certainly a specialty piece of hardware.

I agree. The bike is currently at the shop where I bought it and their first comment when I showed them the bolt was something along the lines of "I am not sure where we would get that".

I vaguely recall that it is a 40-something mm torx bolt....only because I did not have the right tool to tighten mine up during routine maintenance. But I could be wrong.

... can I ask why/how a big motor bolt can be sheared ?.
.
thanx

( one of our older Como's needed motor to frame fasteners tightened after squeaking when hard pedaling/assist ... )

My best guess is that it became fatigued over time - I have just under 10k km on the bike. I put a lot of torque on the pedals getting out of a tight spot and I think that did it. While that burst caused the chain to jump off, I did not view it as being outside the bounds of normal operation.

Curious, how many years do major bike manufacturers keep critical parts in stock?

Guessing this highly stressed bolt was carefully chosen for the job — and therefore best replaced with the Specialized original.

If they are a Specialized dealer they should have access to the full spares catalog and a contact at Specialized.
