2019 Rear Racks

Hi, I have 2017 Stromer ST2 S. I currently have no rear rack on the bike. I understand the Stromer Rack is quite narrow. Ideally I would like a rack that can support a pannier (or other bag) that could hold the Stromer battery. I would just use the bag for daily commuting. What do you recommend? Thanks!

Lots of details in this thread.

You could also use Topeak rack and Ortleib panniers.
I used Topeak rack for my cross country ride.

Thanks Ravi, as always. Seems the Topeak is more versatile than the Stromer rack (although Stromer looks very sleek).

I have an Ortlieb E-Mate pannier that is designed for daily commuting and has a special padded enclosure for a spare battery. Sounds perfect but, unfortunately, I cannot comment on whether your Stromer battery will fit. Also, I haven't used the pannier sufficiently to be able to assess durability (but it is an Ortlieb!).

Topeak trunk bags feature in numerous photos on the EBR Forum. I like mine.

Be aware that you might encounter difficulties when trying to fit both trunk bag and panniers. This is because trunk bags tend to spread outwards beyond the rack and panniers, perversely, extend above it, each taking over the other's space! This situation can be avoided by choosing a rack with twin horizontal tubes – the panniers hang from the lower tubes; the trunk bag to sits on the upper tubes.

Have Ibera RakPak. This is a combination bag/rack. The bag is large, well built and very functional. Clips on off on in seconds. Expect could hold battery and items for daily use. Love it!

That is a very nice bag, thanks for the tip, I will explore if fits the Stromer.

The 1kWh battery is no cheap option; why no recharging at your workplace?
I do recharge at work, so just one battery. I actually only need the bag to fit my battery for when I lug it to my desk. So, it is not "critical" that the bag fit the Stromer battery, but it would make things easier for me.

For this exact purpose, I used a sturdy yoga mat bag.
There are several available at REI and on Amazon. These bags are long, sleek and with some thin padding, one could carry these long battery packs (Stromer, PowerTube by Bosch etc.)
The stock rear rack by Stromer can carry about 40lbs, which is not bad!
