2018 Turbo Vado 2.0 Start Up / Power Problem

It seems another user had a similar issue but the resolution was not posted. My wife was on a ride and when she was 9 miles out from home, the bike fell over and would not power back up despite the battery having about 1/2 charge remaining on it. When she pushed the power button, the screen would light up, then the lowest block on the batter indicator on the Bloks display would flash, but nothing else came on. The bike has 650 total miles on the odometer and has been running great until this happened. I checked the wires and cleaned the contacts to no avail. I charged the battery overnight without the computer on it, then put the computer back on the bike and attempted to power it up, but still nothing. I removed the back of the Bloks display unit to see if there is an internal batter, but I didn't see one.

Will likely have to check the bike into the LBS to have them take a look at it.

Any ideas on how to correct this?

I had to have a new battery to motor power cable. $27.00 installed on my turbo levo. My old cable would work with dielectric silicon grease on the connector. You can get it at any auto parts store. It is used on all the connections on your car.

Thanks for the tip ... I will give it a try.

If anything else fails, see the LBS. They are supposed to fix the bike.
P.S. Does not the bike qualify to free replacement of the BLOKS display with the new TCD-W? My Vado is 2017 but it was bought as new in 2019, and I got the overhaul to TCD-W free of charge. If your Vado is not covered by the warranty, the upgrade is still possible although it might cost some. Having TCD-W compared to BLOKS is the day against the night!

Thanks for your note. After trying various things for the past couple of hours and not finding a solution, this is going to the LBS in the morning. I was hoping for an easy fix.

Have you tried charging the display too? Micro usb port at the bottom of the display, try charging it overnight. Just a thought. Otherwise this is the time to go to the TCD-W and start using mission control!
