No e-bikes as you probably understand.
11th April 1869 three men set off for what is known as first documented cycling in Sweden. They started on the island Kungsholmen and the destination ( well turning point) was the castle of Drottningholm ( that castle is now our present king’s residence).
The bikes , called velocipeds at that time, had pedals on the front wheel and the wooden wheels had a layer of iron to strengthen the wearing surface. The distance was just under 10km (6 miles) and they did it in 59 minutes. Going back was even quicker, 47 minutes. Not to bad with those bikes.
Kungsholmen is now a vivid part of Stockholm but in 1869 it was mostly rural.
Attached image shows how Google suggest you do that trip by bicycle ( I mean e-bike) today. Blue dot is where I live.
I passed Drottningholm castle a couple of times last summer on my Vado.
