Since it looks like we won't be getting the bike for a while, any thoughts on winter riding? With the speed the bike can go, I'm thinking I might need a full balaclava and some mittens to go over my gloves. I been going winter camping for years so I think I'm fine when it comes to clothes...

That Cross Bar is Going to Kill You

In any event, in most of the world a study like this would be useless as there is no legal mechanism for regulating bikes to this detail. If if there were it wouldn't pass muster in a rational country as bikes users and uses are extremely varied and the array of regulations would turn most...

    Urban folding ebike

Can you use a park n ride and take the MARC? I live in Va though and i dont know its route. The whole system is made for getting people into dc in the morning and out in the evening so i dont know how well that'll work. I have a folding ebike and they are heavy. Im a strong guy but i wouldnt...

No, you're right and I agree with you. My point is while a mid drive would do the job better, a hub motor can do the work as well and at a cheaper price. I'm at 260lbs although I was 293 two months ago when I got my first bike, ebikes and a change in diet are working wonders for me.

Hub, im a big guy and i live in a very hilly area. I have a 350w hub now and while it does struggle up hills, it does beat them with a lot of work. On a flat area with a more powerful bike its a no brainer. The hub is cheaper and simpler as well so it has fewer points of failure.

Powerful Fat Tire E-bike w/ Torque sensor from Juiced Bikes

The speed this bike is capable of is the most important reason behind my purchase. I live on the east coast and I'm from the south, I couldn't care less about California law. Legislating on something as diverse as bikes is stupid. Most states in the country aren't bothering to legislate on...

Sobering information about adults dying in bike/car collisions

I don't ride my bike where i live, no sidewalks and cars drive a minimum of 50mph on the country roads. I take my car to town and ride my bike there (small walkable historic downtown) where cars rarely go over 25. Or there is one short trail that i can go back and forth on in less than an hour.

I'm not in a rush and I'm glad to see an update. I also think it would be awsome to see the early preorders like mine come with a rack 'wink, wink' :)

    Mate ebike

Went on two rides yesterday...the second was to try out adjustments from the first. It does take some getting used to as you're sitting even more upright than on a cruiser. I put a thudbuster on there which makes the ride pretty smooth but I really hate that saddle, it's not really made for...

    Mate ebike

So I had my delivery postponed until today, I was out of town. The box was dinged up but the box in a box worked great. No visible faults except that the bracket for the display connecting it to the handlebars was broken...and the bracket/display is all one piece. But its nothing some gorilla...

    Attempted Ebike Theft Averted

Hey, its their choice. They decided to risk their lives over a bike. They know what country they live in and they know some people in it are fiercely protective of their property. Property rights are useless unless you can protect them...to answer your question, that's what makes me better...

I'm more worried about the lack of updates. Like I said earlier, I'm willing to wait for a good product but it was originally promised for May. They can at least keep us updated on It's progress but it looks like the crosscurrent s has a higher priority.

Can e-bike batteries be charged with solar panels?

I have a BioLite and it's actually great...but not for charging devices. It takes forever to charge a cell phone, much less an ebike battery. The thermoelectric charging is more for powering the internal fan to get a hotter, cleaner fire. What little power is left is used to charge it's...

Bike for a mountain village in Mexico

Depending on the slope, a 49cc moved might not be enough, I've seen them struggle to get over bridges, much less mountains. I recommend a scooter as well but at least a 150cc one
