What do you carry on your bike?

Depends on your particular bike. On mine, I have a levered through-axle which makes it easier to remove the rear wheel. Not quite as easy as the quick release skewers, but easier than having to carry a tool to unbolt the wheel. Even if yours is bolted on, just pick up a compact multi-tool, or...

How wet can you get an E- Bike?

Thanks for the info @J.R. I just bought myself a 2017 EVO Cross and am planning on riding it year-round here in Colorado as a commuter. We don't get too many downpours but it's nice to know I don't have to take shelter under a bridge every time it sprinkles. :D

Safety precautions while riding a bike

I've got such a big noggin (something like 68-70cm) that nearly all bicycle helmets don't fit me. Best I could do was get a Bell XLV a few years ago, and even then I had to cut and modify the strap system to give me more room. I'm tall and I have a long head and the helmet perches up there in...

Haibike Moving U.S. HQ to Denver, CO

Hot off the press at the Denver Biz Journal: http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2017/01/23/german-electric-bike-brand-moving-u-s-headquarters.html My backyard! They might even start doing some manufacturing here, too. I sincerely hope this helps expand the ebike world here in Colorado.

any suggestions for an older, 300 lb, tall rider with a bad knee for an electric bike

May I ask what your ride of choice is? I'm 6'6" and clock in at about 285. Spokes and I don't get along very well. If it was just a weight issue I'd get a cargo bike with a 350 pound capacity, but with my height I look like a circus bear on a mini bicycle when I ride those.

Winter Biking Advice From A Minnesotan

Great write-up! Thank you for taking the time to share it with us. You are indeed hardy to tackle riding in these conditions. I bike commute during the wintertime down here in Colorado, but my personal rules of thumb are: Temperature must be above 25 (and, frankly, the older I get, the...

Q: Has owning an e-bike changed your car driving habits?

Another "trying to save up to get an ebike soon" guy here. At the moment, I ride a 100% leg-powered Trek 7100 to and from work (about 20 miles round trip, 90% on paved paths). Obviously this substantially cuts down on my driving. I still use the car to get groceries and run errands, mostly...

    Locks

You might enjoy this site: http://thebestbikelock.com/ They seem to know what they're talking about. They speak highly of the Abus line of locks, as other posters here have pointed out. The problem with bike security, of course, is that you can get super-secure chains that are almost...
