Funny how fire seems to hit companies that file bankruptcy..... o_O

Rad Power Bikes may close soon

Rad is also located in Ballard which is a very expensive place to operate from, and any employees in that area will be demanding significant wages. The mgmt probably sucked much of the investment dollars figuring it would just keep pouring in......just a guess.

New ebike laws in California taking effect January 1, 2026

You know what would get attention at night? A blinking BLUE light on your bike... I wonder how that would go over with the police?

New ebike laws in California taking effect January 1, 2026

I am more frustrated at the lack of enforcement of the tinted windows in our state these days. The fact that I can't see most of the drivers now to know if they see me is dangerous, but the police don't seem to do much about dark tint, but want to force us to be a lighted christmas tree for the...

New ebike laws in California taking effect January 1, 2026

I live in WA and what CA does ends up trickling up to our state. Good thing you have an ebike since CA gas is set to hit $10/gal this summer with the loss of those gas refineries. I don't know about any light regulations on bikes but rear lights are not a bad idea for bikes that ride in...

    RAD Power Bikes Going Bust

Back in the late 80's me and my friends would ride our 3 and 4 wheeler on the snowmobile trails because it was a lot of fun. The snowmobile folks didn't like us being there, mostly because we didn't have to have a snow permit since we were not riding snowmobiles. We only did it 3 or 4 times...

    first ebike

It all depends on what your looking for. I've done mail order 3 times and zero problems. I don't have the luxury of local dealers but haven't needed one either. I actually pedal my bike so torque sensor is how I like to go. If you just want to throttle around then that would not be the way to...

    Big mistake!

What I do is put a long ratchet tie down strap over a rafter board in my garage then put the hooks on both ends around my seat. I can then adjust the height with the ratchet and the rear tire is off the ground.

    “No e-bikes allowed”

This is why electric cars are banned on many car ferry's because once on fire you can't put them out. They have to burn out. If you owned a hotel would you want the fire risk? There could also be some restrictions placed on businesses by their insurance as well.

Sounds like a clueless grandmother who needs to know what the heck she is buying her grandkids. These are not toys. Kids can be killed.

I see in my small town kids riding what I would call e-motorcycles which should be banned from sidewalks/streets and bike paths. When I was a kid I would get into trouble riding my minibike on to the street where the cops would take it from me and make my parents come pick it up. Now I see kids...

    My Tire's Are Rotting !!??@$

First thing I thought when I saw the pics was maybe over inflation? My tires are always just under the max recommendation, but that's just what I like to do.

    From Fat Tire Knobby's to....

If you put some tannus liners in, you won't have to worry about puncture. I have around 1,200mi on my 4.8's and never a puncture. I'll be interested to see what you go with, but I still have a ways to go on my tires.

Looking for an e-bike with the following:

I've had my 160Nm for 3 yrs without any issue up hills, flats, snow, whatever. As long as you know how/when to shift its not a problem. If you lug the motor or try to throttle around then you will most likely not have good luck. FWIW
