    Aventon Aventure M

Well, we’ll see, Mike. Aventon may end up being the only (innovative) player/maker in this market soon. What will be interesting is to see what Lectric does with the Juiced brand. I hope they bring back innovation to fattys. The 20” fatty space is still pretty crowded and a lot of bikes are...

    Aventon Aventure M

We’ll see how Fättie holds up for the next while, Chris. You may have a customer down the road. :) This Aventure M looks like a very cool bike. Yeah, I read your post that you sold off all the unassisted fat bikes.

    Aventon Aventure M

Well, I guess I found the EBR stuff on this beast. Written report is below. The video seems to be on youtube, also linked below. https://electricbikereport.com/aventon-aventure-m-review/

2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Ice is definitely problematic. The good news is that you can spot it on trails (if you’re observant, that is). The bad news is that sometimes the entire trail is covered and you can’t avoid it. As far as traction goes, it doesn’t really matter how fat the tires are, although I suppose lower...

36V Commuter Battery is Dying - Rebuild or Replace?

Late to the party, JL, but having digested that you already have a more “modern” bike I wish you well. Your approach sounds reasonable. I was going to recommend upgrading to a 48V power system, but I get ya’. Good luck.

    Aventon Aventure M

Was just reading up on this bike. It’s been out for a few months, and I wonder if anyone has gotten one and/or written any review(s) on EBR about it. Aventon has applied their (A100) mid-drive motor to a fat bike. I’m not sure if any other manufacturer is making a fat bike like this anymore...

    Gravel Vs. Trail Bikes

Good stuff, Chris. I wonder if I could ever get comfortable on a gravel bike.

    Cable actuated hydraulic caliper upgrade

Good call, Chris. What’s a “hydro brake,” then? My question for all of you, is there any advantage to cable-actuated brakes vs. hydraulic hoses? Are these best for retrofitted bikes? But, in order to mount these calipers don’t you already need bosses on the tubes to accept them? Just curious.

    Cable actuated hydraulic caliper upgrade

Nice. Cable-pull caliper. I haven’t seen many of those. Cool.

    Fresh Battery

Yes, definitely best to get a factory spare if you can. But, yes, there are some companies that will rebuild your battery. Are you in the US?

New to the Group - Looking for Gravel Friends in the Bay Area

Welcome aboard, @dpaulson . You’re riding my old stoping grounds (back in the early ‘90s). Congrats, you’re very . I’m sure there’s gazillions of riders in the area. I don’t know how popular eBikes are in Marin, but maybe @PedalUma can point you in the right direction. I believe he’s in...

Anyone else still putting miles on their RipCurrent S?

Fantastic, Laser…. Sounds like you have an “in” with Lectric, as I don’t recall seeing what you wrote before… I’d love to hear more although my primary interest is in seeing Juiced make a comeback under Lectric. My understanding is that Lectric has no obligation to deal with Juiced’s...

    RideWithGPS

@edobici_forza , I think Jeremy uses it more thoroughly than I do, but here’s my usage. And, I love the app, though I have little to compare it with (other than car GPS apps). I almost exclusively use the RWGPS Cycle map and turn on/off the various options (mostly unpaved cycling layer)...

The Unique New E-Bike With Rivian DNA

Drive by wire is interesting. We saw that recently on some urban e-trucks that have pedals… Pretty interesting stuff. Is there a time in that video when the features of the bike are covered? I got bored after a couple of minutes of organizational history as I’m only interested in the tech/bike.

Dual motor; full suspension; semi-recumbent MeetOneTrike with 180nm torque @ 25 mph

I think Rad is still up and shipping. Probably some good deal(s) over the holidays. I continue to get marketing email from them, but yes it looks like they’re on their way out.
