Winter riding on the Zen Photon.

Guys, thanks for chiming in on the polished concrete warning. Steel on polished concrete would not be the best combo for sure. Even ice@ -20c and below is pretty hard and I'm not sure the studs would dig in super well. SK. can get pretty cold. Drew, I would also say that a Thudbuster may not...

Winter riding on the Zen Photon.

Hi Drew, I can second the Spiker pros as being a great tire on ice. I use them on my MTB in the winter. Even on bare ice (on a lake for instance) they grip pretty much the same as biking in the summer on hard dirt. They are fairly slow rolling of course, but won't matter with an ebike. Keep in...

Need your help: Left side motor cover question

This is the first thing to try. Taking the screw out will reveal a “ jagged washer “ piece of the cover that should be a good fit back onto the cover. Epoxy is a great option if the plastic in question will bond with it. If not then the CA glue with the second part called “activator “ might...

Need your help: Left side motor cover question

Btw don’t forget that super glue bonds skin instantly….lol hopefully I remember next time.

Need your help: Left side motor cover question

I’ve had good luck with the two part super glue (lepages in my case) on plastic that refuses to bond with other glue. I would try that perhaps along with the silicone too after it’s all back together. No need to have these overly tight as it looks like it’s only a weather shield?

Do you like your Zen ebike? I mean really like it???

I would love to get pics of my bike. First I have to get it lol. The wait is killing me, especially as I watch the beautiful fall weather here slide by. I'm glad you are not in the real Miami for the next week or two. Milton is going to be kicking Florida's butt.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

Lol, all good. What pads did you go with? Also the rear brake is harder to bleed. Helps if you remove the caliper from the bike so the hose has a straight shot down to it. All about making it easy for the air bubbles to flow out.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

It does only take a few milliamperes to stop the heart.Your body has a resistance that determines how many volts it takes to do the deed. I have had 240v applied to my hands numerous times and am here to talk about it. However if I had been in water etc. all done. In fact 52v from the bike...

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

I can tell you this, no way I’m hooking my pickle up to that lol.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

I don’t know if it’s wise to put two accident prone people in the same vicinity. I bet it would be fun for onlookers though.😄

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

Lol, we must be related. I had a stack of incident forms at work. When I retired last year everyone had a good laugh when I gathered them up to dump them. I worked there for 33 years and the stack was about 2” thick. Wonder I am still alive as I was an Electrician for half of that and burned...

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

Lol sounds like you might have more crash stories in your future. Hope they fall into the funny category, and not too damaging to body and bike

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

That’s what I remember, that it was small and simple looking. I have a 1976 CB400f that has stupidly heavy throttle springs. I just simply took them off and replaced them with a much lighter one. I never went on long enough rides to warrant a cruise.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

The one I m thinking of looked more like a seat post quick release with adjustable tension on the cam lever. I never saw one in person so don’t know how well it works.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

Wow, you’re really into throttling, I am expecting to remove the one on my bike when I get it. I’ll keep it in my tool kit in case I get injured on a ride. Worried that I will rely on it too much and I really want to stay in good shape as long as possible. I had to fight my way back to good...

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

After noticing that you say you ride no hands and not pedalling 75% of time, I have to ask do you lock your throttle on somehow?

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

..and there you have it, a solid reason. I figured there was one just didn't know what it was. BTW sweet second use for the bell lol. I will look into the brake thing as you have now piqued my interest. I won't be able to let it go. Might take a while but I'll find out and post it .

Looking good Ravi, how is our timeline going for delivery of our bikes? BTW, Terry here.

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

I have to ask why you are switching the hoses if you don't ride motorcycles anymore. If there is no solid reason you are risking a crash with no upside? Your instincts will likely take over in a panic situation. I won't even go fast on a borrowed bike with the hoses on "backward" as I just don't...

Zen Photon Pro - Disc Brake Pad Replacement

I believe the motorcycles have a bellows in them just like the one in your Tektro seems to(at least that what yours looks like). It shrinks and expands a bit to cover changes in fluid level. I've never had a bicycle master cylinder apart(yet) so I'm assuming that the black rubber thing in yours...
