I haven't ridden the recumbent since I bought this bike, but I may someday for longer rides. My garage just isn't that long. My other car is a van that fits in with less than 2' to spare, so I can't do that with this rack.

My rack may be different. I have to load one wheel into its compartment which is awkward. then I have to kind of move the bike "in" enough to get the second wheel on. Each wheel has its own cradle. There aren't all that many racks that support the weight of E-bikes.

I wouldn't fuss this at all! Its not about 'competing' with your friend or yourself but enjoying the ride / journey. I just generally 'figure' if I am on eco mode it is compensating for the bike weight and that's it. I may have to try this Diablo ride some day....

I too love recumbents, the ride is just more comfortable. I found a significant difference in test riding all the different bikes in terms of how I would like the posture. My favorite out of all of them was the Vado. I ended up buying a Tero x 6.0, because where I live are very short segments...

Five weeks in I went on a real bike ride. :) Did 12 miles with 1,072 elevation gain. I did only a few feet of dirt, I'll let that come in time... And the trail was quite busy as it is a weekend.

That's exactly the kind of rack I want. Specialized says I can't put a Vado rack on it because of the Full Suspension. That's a Topeak standard rack? What model? Can you explain a little more about the adapter?
