How to tighten Creo SL chainring?

Mine would come loose every few hundred miles. I ended up using blue threadlocker. However, My SL spends 99% of its life on trails and service roads. Now if I can figure out a way to keep those futureshock screws from backing out, I'd be happy.

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

Don't worry, as soon as you buy the 1.2 SL. Specialized will release the 1.3 6 months later. 😂

Swapping in new wheels on Vado SL 4.0 - where to mount the speed sensor magnet?

I picked this up for my 2nd set of wheels without issue...

    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

Now the question is, if the new motor will fit in a Gen 1 bike :) and could an LBS get their hands on one to purchase. Assuming the BMS is all the same. Might need a new TCU though? Knowing Specialized, they probably moved the motor mount 6mm just to prevent this line of thinking :D

    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

According to him, the Rep said sometime in May I was debating getting a Tero X 6 as a 2nd bike, but I may trade up to the SL instead. I'm curious to see what the 50nm motor feels like

    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

I was at my LBS and tech mentioned the Turbo Vado SL will get the new motor as well. We shall see 😁

Converted my Turbo Vado SL 5 to a Drop Bar

You’re exactly correct on most bars being too wide, on my tri bike I run 40cm to get nice and tucked in. This also reminds me I need to swap my crank arms on the SL to 165

Converted my Turbo Vado SL 5 to a Drop Bar

It definitely takes some getting used to, but I think the mostly depends on if you ride drop bars often. Redshift also makes some 53cm bars which look and feel huge in person. Those Venturemax bars are nice as well.

Converted my Turbo Vado SL 5 to a Drop Bar

Thank you, I have a B17 but decided to go with the C17 Cambium since I plan to use this bike more for bike packing.

Converted my Turbo Vado SL 5 to a Drop Bar

If you look at the pic with the handlebar, you can see I ziptied it to the side of the stem. It actually, worked out okay there. Once I'm satisfied with the location, I'll use some 3M VHB

Converted my Turbo Vado SL 5 to a Drop Bar

Thank You, I have a new brooks saddle should match great but I, not ready to go through the break in process yet lol. Sadly I needed to replace the calipers since the tekro ones are mineral based and sram are DOT 5.1

Converted my Turbo Vado SL 5 to a Drop Bar

This project has been on my bucket list for quite some time now. I finally converted my SL 5.0 to a drop bar. I went with SRAM Rival AXS and a AXS GX Rear Derailleur (mullet setup). For the bars I went with REDSHIFT's Kitchen sink and their ergo grips. It was a fairly straightforward process; I...

Extender First still uses some Main battery?

Noticed this as well on a few rides. Interestingly my Edge 530 tells me exactly when I will get full assist back once the extender is depleted. On my garmin if the ebike battery says 35% but the bike reports 42, then my assist will be limited until the bike reports 35%. At that point I take off...

Specialized teases details of Globe Bikes sub-brand Cargo eBike

I agree with you 100%, but I can't count how many times I've seen people buy a bike at a department store for $300. Then take it to the LBS next door (they never went in because "everything was overpriced") to put it together. a lot of the name brand entry level bikes you can buy for not much...

Specialized teases details of Globe Bikes sub-brand Cargo eBike

I am curious to see how this plays out. Typically, the people that buy these types of bikes in the US don't go to an LBS to buy their bikes. They pick them up online and at boat/RV shows. The people I know that ride these bikes would care less that it's a Specialized and definitely wouldn't pay...

Vado SL 5.0 saddle isn't comfortable

For me, my issue is the width isn't working for me, but I run narrow saddles on my bikes. Don't get me wrong the stock saddle isn't bad, it's just not for me. Generally, I have found that if the only thing hurting is your seat after a hard ride, it's most likely the saddle. I found the best...

Vado SL 5.0 saddle isn't comfortable

Interesting I just saw this. After my 70 mile ride yesterday and 15 today, I developed some bad saddle sores. I usually wear little to zero padding since that’s how I train on my tri bike. I’ve learned a long time ago that a proper bike fit will allow me to ride pretty much any saddle so the...

Dry run with my DIY rack On Vado SL

It is rejuvenating out here for sure. I am pretty certain I could trap a fly between the front tire and fork but mud out here would require a serious Rain Dance. Once I wear these out I’ll probably drop to 40s.

Dry run with my DIY rack On Vado SL

I am happy to report I was able to mount a rack to my SL 5 with 50c tires. I ended up using my rear bottle mount bracket to zip tie the rails. It survived a 70 mile ride loaded with 15lbs of gear, and 15 miles of rough off road trails. I feel comfortable taking it on longer tours now now that I...

Some boring metrics on my first stress test with the SL 5.0

Looks like a nice ride Stefan. I ended up ordering a range extender as well. I know what you mean about the weight, it adds up fast on a bicycle. For my longer trips I'm going debating a Burley trailer. Some of my routes I may have to carry the bike up a rocky or sand hill and it would suck to...
