    Not buying Specialized ebikes again.

That sounds like dry seals, especially when back pedaling.

    UL-2271 certification for Zen 52V, 20Ah batteries

This is awesome! I'm going have to sell my current ebike now and get a Zen!

    Pedego Elevate V2

Do you have a picture? I have an Element and an Avenue, both have the battery in the downtube and are removed from underneath. First turn the key, then slide or flip the safety release underneath.

Evelo Omega vs Zen Photon Pro for next E Bike

You could always replace the handlebar stem to get the reach you want.

    Zen Photon Pro- Preorder | 1040Wh UL Certified battery | 500W nominal/900W peak power Torque-sensing motor w/ Throttle | USD 2999 | CAD 3999

Not sure how this would affect the warranty, but you could always ream out the valve stem hole in the rim and install Schrader valve tubes, instead. When I worked in a bicycle shop in the 1980s we did this for customers who did not want presta valves.

Differences between hub motor with Torque sensor vs mid drive motor

There is the difference, the word "external" is in reference to the device, not the bicycle. That is how it has been referred to ever since the first cyclo computers came out.

Differences between hub motor with Torque sensor vs mid drive motor

Not according to the list of materials. An external pickup would be like what my old CatEye had where there was a reed switch triggered by a magnet. Two items needed for the trigger. This item has nothing except what you mount to the crank arm.

Finally! Someone who understands how most Li-ion batteries need to be treated for longest cycle and calendar life and actually does something about it. Thank you. You might want to change the last line in the display to say, "Unplug the charger!"

    Lithium Battery charging.

The voltage isn't really added, it is that the voltage goes up as charge is added. Further more, the voltage change isn't linear. For all practical purposes, when a battery is below the upper states of charge (SOC), the 2A charger will add 2 Amp-hours of charge for every hour of charging and...

Asking PEDEGO. If they can reprogram. The controller. To have on and off. Torque for etrike

If it is like my Avenue and Element, it only has a cadence sensor.

    Pedego PAS Design

I did get my Avenue's firmware upgraded. It did largely fix the delay in kicking in and also the over speeding. The battery meter is supposed to be a little more accurate but clearly is just measuring voltage rather than actual battery capacity. This makes it drop faster at the end of charge...

    Pedego Latch V2

I wonder why they went to a single speed setup. It seems that it has lower utility, thigh the more powerful motor system is a plus.

Do Bosch motors add resistance at the class 1/3 support limit?

Try riding it with the power off and also with the battery removed. Compare that with a down hill run, too. If you have a way to see battery voltage, see if it increases when you hit 21mph or so.

Battery Charging and Storage Options in the Heat!

Right, mine will go into a hibernate mode if left for a few days. Even a cold battery will put out some energy which can be used to heat it when the vehicle is turned on. In very cold climates should be plugged in the same way ICE vehicles block heaters are plugged in. Cold batteries don't...

Battery Charging and Storage Options in the Heat!

The good ones heat or cool while not charging, too. I know my 2023 Kia Niro EV will heat the battery in the winter while on a trip so that it is at a good charging temperature when I arrive at a charge station as long as it has been entered into the navigation system. It will also heat the...

Sound Resonating through the bike when I move it? Help please

You are welcome! I'm glad the problem was found. I started working on bicycles in 1978 and then was a formal bicycle mechanic while in college in the mid to late 1980s. It paid for my cycling habit. 😁 During all those years I learned to listen to bicycles to figure out what was needing...

Sound Resonating through the bike when I move it? Help please

It sounds like the brake pad is very gently touching the brake disk. When you tip the bike and move it, the slight flex in things causes things to move relative to each other. Grabbing the brake lever changes the contact on the pads so the sound disappears.

Kinekt 50° Comfort Stem vs. Redshift 30° ShockStop Suspension Stem

I haven't actually had a chance to ride with the Kinekt stem on my wife's bike. It actually makes her bike too tall to fit under the canopy on my pickup so I'm thinking of either getting her the RedShift stem or the regular Kinekt like shown in poste #4 above. One thing I notice about the...

Who is transporting their ebikes standing up inside a truck bed under topper?

When I got a new pickup, I decided to get a canopy that was taller than the cab since it was always hard to get the bikes in without hitting the top. I used my 1987 Schwinn Cimarron as a guide and bought the ARE extra height top which has 3 inches more headroom than the cab height version. Then...

Turbo Vado 5.0: IGH or chain?

I got over 60,000 miles on the factory tires on my Kia Soul EV and the tires on my Kia Niro EV seem to be holding up just as well. Drive crazy and the tires wear out fast, regardless of what propulsion system is employed.
