Yes, I will do the same thing. I am not sure about getting a range extender. It is something I may consider down the road. I guess the range extender can also be carried in a rack bag when not in use.

I know it is not a phone. It is more expensive than a phone. If you buy the current Bosch system your options to upgrade the system will be limited. I am actually interested in hearing about availability of ebikes with the Smart system at local bike shops.
