    DIY Dual Motor EMTB/Cargo Suggestions

Do you think that dual RH212 Motors each with 72v batteries driven by a phaserunner would be an effective build? Seem to be a good balance, but I'm still not sure that DD will have enough torque required. OR something like a geared GMAC in the rear plus a DD in front?

    DIY Dual Motor EMTB/Cargo Suggestions

BTW this idea was tried in 2003, but the technology was not ready yet. It seems like a good solution if using modern battery+motor tech. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidalforce_Electric_Bicycle

    DIY Dual Motor EMTB/Cargo Suggestions

I can spend a thousand hours looking at spec sheets, but I think I need to get some parts in hand and work out the problems hands on. In the current market I don't think there are many suppliers ready to ship the parts that I want, but would it be good to start with whatever I can get my...

    DIY Dual Motor EMTB/Cargo Suggestions

Going on about the motors, are you saying that any hub motor with the power and torque to get all that cargo moving would need to be something massive like what they use on those moto cross style bikes? Also for the frame I think steel will work plus its much easier to find someone to build it.

    DIY Dual Motor EMTB/Cargo Suggestions

Thank you for the in depth block-o-text. Your article outlines the exact reasons why I am going down this dark path, so may I pick your brain a little? First though I want to share my design goals and ideas: I am not attempting to design a regular bike. This build is from an engineering...

Anyone have experience with the Grin all axle or GMAC motors?

That motor seems to be a good solution. What are you going to use for a controller. I wish Phaserunners were not sold out for 6 months... supply shortages such EDIT: Have you found any where to buy their other motors? I can only find the Crystalyte H4040 UFO from Grin.

Anyone have experience with the Grin all axle or GMAC motors?

In general are motors under 1000w used mostly for road and gravel riding, and if I wanted to get performance offroad, would I need something larger/ with more wattage? I know that there is no perfect system and that whatever I choose will have a trade off, but is there a good motor + controller...

Anyone have experience with the Grin all axle or GMAC motors?

I can somewhat answer my own question through the motor sim from Grim, but for those who have used it does the motor, with enough current have enough push to get you past hills you might find when out on a mountain bike trail?

Anyone have experience with the Grin all axle or GMAC motors?

Do you think that a GMAC running 52v and up to ~40amps would be able to handle large hills without burning out or are there better motors for high load applications?

Anyone have experience with the Grin all axle or GMAC motors?

I am wondering if anyone here has any experience using these motors and for what applications. Right now I am planning on using one(or both) in my next ebike build.

    DIY Dual Motor EMTB/Cargo Suggestions

I am relatively new in the world of ebikes, but have good experience working on bikes from my time working at a bike store. My current ambitious project is to build an ebike capable of hauling up to or near 100 pounds of cargo in off road condition similar to a bike packing mtb setup, but with...
