Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I’ve seen a couple mentions of the Ortleib Quickrack working with the Vado SL but don’t have personal experience. Can’t say whether the Vado SL rack mount holes are 5mm since I don’t have a Vado SL. As for width, every rear rack I’ve seen has a bit of flex and the extra width wouldnt be an...

Turbo Vado 4.0, how to make it lighter?

Yes, if the Saris rack doesn’t have something to snug it to the receiver, it will bounce even though the receiver is rock solid. That can give an impression of the mount not being secure. @MarylandMike tongue weight spec allows for momentary dynamic load increases from bumps and such.

Turbo Vado 4.0, how to make it lighter?

As a Vado 4.0 owner the weight is really only noticed when lifting it onto a bike rack or similar, and for that you can remove the battery and save a few pounds. Tires and fenders won't make much difference to its ~58lb weight. Even if you save 10-15% that's just not going to make much...

Specialized turbo vado SL 4.0. Info on size to fit in shed

I don't have the bike so I can't measure, but the geometry and specs should allow a good estimate. Size M wheelbase is 1091mm, and the bike comes with 700x38c tires with a diameter of about 698mm* - add a half-diameter to the front and back of the wheelbase and the overall length would be...

Lock the crank to lube chain - tool

yep. They’re not supposed to. until they do - usually due to vibration over time. never hurts to check torque on critical stuff

2020 Turbo Vado 4.0 how to make it go faster

Yes, for 40T to 48T, new chain that’s four links longer. Rule of thumb is adjust/change chain for chainring +/- 4T or more, and add/remove one link-pair per four teeth - chain is on only half of the chainring

2020 Turbo Vado 4.0 how to make it go faster

Yes, the 2020 Vado 4.0 is supposedly spec'd with a 40T chainring. As Stefan mentions, the 1.2 motor is 85Nm up to 520W. Your assumption of undue stress from increasing the chainring tooth count is incorrect though - the motor applies power at the crank shaft and thus it doesn't matter what...

    Creo vs Creo 2 geometry

Sorry, yes, I read the wrong column on the Specialized chart - size L is 78mm, size XL is 75.5mm. That puts the two frames within a half millimeter of one another for effective stack relative to BB. I'll edit my post so as not to confuse future readers.

    Creo vs Creo 2 geometry

You'll probably see a change in the displayed head tube length. I think you're focusing on the wrong geometry spec. Better to look at Stack - which represents the height of the handlebars relative to the bottom bracket. Difference in BB Drop - height difference between axles and bottom...

Probably. Probably someday. Anyone with actual info is under NDA or otherwise would jeopardize their job by revealing corporate confidential info.

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

Yes, but Bosch being the exception is offset by their prevalence in a so many different ebikes. Personally, I don't really care about BLE since I use a Garmin Edge for display and data collection and ANT+ does that just fine. If I were putting my phone on the handlebars then Bosch's...

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

and if it does, check carefully whether it will communicate with anything except a Bosch head unit or phone app. While unimportant to some, it'd be a deal breaker for me.

WOW! Rough ride ahead! All "Terms of Use" are modified

I'm not so sure - global bicycle market projected CAGR is >6%, with overall revenues doubling between now and 2032. https://www.gminsights.com/industry-analysis/bicycle-market I don't believe that's changed in the way you think it's changed; have a look at UCC § 2-509 - the implication being...

WOW! Rough ride ahead! All "Terms of Use" are modified

Exactly the likely point of this change - the company is aiming to protect itself from exorbitant legal fees or judgements from a frivolous class action suit. Seems like a good thing from the point of view of “making sure they can survive“ So I’m still confused as to the point of your thread...

WOW! Rough ride ahead! All "Terms of Use" are modified

While I’m not a lawyer, I have a good familiarity with contract law. Yes they specify that if you use the website or app you agree to arbitration for disputes. Meh. The only ones who benefit from class action lawsuits are the lawyers. So what do you feel is the real world impact that...

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

FWIW my E5 Creo1 rides great, I’d expect the same from the Creo2. and yes, that’s their aluminum frame.

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

The challenge is that Reach is normally the horizontal distance from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the head tube. Then there's additional distance from the length/angle of the stem, and even more distance to the hoods or drops subject to the handlebar drop & reach specs for...
