    Kinderney trouble shooting

I got an automated reply back from the Kinderney site: Hello and thank you for your message. We regret having to inform you that CA Technology System AS was declared bankrupt at the end of 2023. If you need spare parts and / or technical support, you may contact the former Kindernay European...

    Kinderney trouble shooting

Out of curiosity I emailed Kinderney to see if I get a response. I'm not expect one, but you never know.

    Kinderney trouble shooting

I took the actuator apart (see photo) and cleaned everything. I can't tell if the arm/extensions are normal or worn/damaged.

    Kinderney trouble shooting

The shaft on the hub rotates (clicks) both ways, so it looks like the hub itself is okay. How do I take the actuator apart to inspect/clean?

    Kinderney trouble shooting

I'll try that today. If problem is a failed shifting actuator, I suspect, since Kinderney has gone out of business, purchasing a new actuator would not be possible.

I'm not sure how to shift it manually.

    Kinderney trouble shooting

I wasn't able to shift to all seven gears (two smallest cogs), so I bled the system. Unfortunately, I went from not being able to engage all the gears to not being able to engage ANY gears. Frustrated, I took the bike to my local bike shop and had them bleed the system for me, but mechanic...

Anyone tried a lightweight ebike conversion kit on the Scott Addict?

I'd prefer to purchase this kit from the US distributor, but I live in Canada, so I'll have to pay duty, taxes, and possible tariffs. If I order directly from China there usually isn't any duty or tariffs, and sometimes there isn't even taxes.

Anyone tried a lightweight ebike conversion kit on the Scott Addict?

peterecosse, I live on the west coast of Canada. I was thinking the 10ah battery would be the right size, as most of my rides are in the 60-80km range. Before I make my purchase I'll check with Keyde on the correct thru axle motor. EMGX, I'll be interested in see a photo of your bike when you...

Anyone tried a lightweight ebike conversion kit on the Scott Addict?

Yes, my Defy has a thru axle (12x142). So, the S110 is the way to go, then. I'm thinking of going with the 10ah battery. Is that a good choice?

Anyone tried a lightweight ebike conversion kit on the Scott Addict?

Either the S110 or the P110. I'm leaning towards the P110, because it has a bit more power. Has anyone received this kit with one of their wheels? Just wondering about the quality of their rims. I'd probably buy the kit from China. If I buy the kit from the US I'll be hit with taxes and...

Anyone tried a lightweight ebike conversion kit on the Scott Addict?

I think I may have found the DIY kit for my Giant Defy (carbon frame). Their website sure doesn't give much information, though. The site does mention that they are able to build a wheel set. That might be easier than getting someone where I live to build a wheel for me.

    Motor clicking

The noise is definitely coming from the motor. I can hear it when I pedal and the noise stops when I stop pedalling.

    Motor clicking

Thanks for the suggestions. I've had the clicking pedal problem before. I'll switch pedals and take the bike for a test ride today.

    Motor clicking

My Bosch gen 4 motor has just over 12,000km on it and I've just started to notice a clicking sound while peddling. When I stop pedding the noise stops, so it's most likely coming from the motor. Any thoughts on the reason for the clicking noise?

New Bosch Gen1–Gen4 Unlock Tool – No Chip, No Errors, Full Reset

I purchased a Bosch unlock chip from epic eBikes over three years ago and have zero issues with it. The only precaution I take, to prevent the dreaded error code, is that I don't manually turn the bike off when I finish my ride. I let the bike chip/computer 'count down' on its own. The chip...

New Bosch Gen1–Gen4 Unlock Tool – No Chip, No Errors, Full Reset

Just curious-how does a bike shop connect a Bosch motor ebike to their computer for upgrades?

Juice's Alarm - another "best" product!

I ended up putting both horns in my bike parts drawer because both batteries needed to be recharged after every ride and if the bike was left sitting for a week the battery would go dead.
