Agree. The Como line has always been Specialized's comfort, laid back bike. I'm curious to see if one or both current Como and Como low-entry will be discontinued. My best guess is they will keep the current Como.

It is very interesting to see Specialized introducing new Vado and Vado step-through to replace the current models but it's confusing with the Como. They only introduced the new Como as a step-through model and I wonder if they will come out with another Como "high-step" like in the current...

Specialized is pulling out all the stops in the next gen Como & Vado and the new Terro. Not only are they attractive, the tech and features are in abundance. Just can't wait to see them in person. Specialized hits a grand slam here. They will sell like hot cakes despite the increase in price.

How fast were you riding? Sure freak accidents can happen at fast, normal or slow speed. But the chance of serious injuries like yours is much less at much lower speed.

Have a look at the Aventon Pace 500 for both of you. It comes in the high step and step through. Class 3 with max assisted speed of 28mph. They are less than 2K and you can't beat it's value for the money. Only caveat is the bike can be jerky off the line. I'm not sure if Aventon has...

Hello Stefan, I just came across this thread and your post and thought I would reply since I just got '21 Como 5. I also have a Vado SL and can tell you the 1.3 motor of the Como 5 is whisper quiet. Quieter than the Vado SL. As matter of fact I can't even hear the motor even in turbo mode.
