    TCD battery replacement question

Thanks again everyone. I used a tiny screwdriver for eyeglasses. Its little flat tip slipped under the battery and popped it out. Newly re-assembled. Now I just have to figure out how to coax Specialized oh-so-intuitive TCL operating system to allow me to reset the clock :) (that's not a...

    TCD battery replacement question

I want to check before I try to force/pop the battery out of the TCD here. It’s a larger CR2032 that seems firmly held in, by about 7 small black tabs. How do I get the battery out without snapping off a tab? It seems pretty firmly held in there.

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

I'm finally going to buy as sturdy a lock as possible for my new Vado SL. Just to lock it to a post for a dash into a bakery (nothing overnight). My trusty local bike shop strongly recommends the pricy Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock (Can$ 200) over Kryptonite. But at The Wirecutter (the NYT's...

seat tipping: Vado SL 5.0 EQ

Carbon fibre seatpost? This is a good question. Vado SL 5.0 EQ Stepthrough. Specialized website says it's not: "Specialized, alloy, 2-bolt, 12.5mm offset, 27.2mm" Here is what it looks like, focussing on the offending part.

seat tipping: Vado SL 5.0 EQ

Thanks. Next time I take it in, I’ll suggest that to my LBS. They were willing to have Specialized replace the part if it kept happening. It’s super awkward to find the bike’s seat slowly rotating backwards and my own seat slipping back.

seat tipping: Vado SL 5.0 EQ

Is anyone else having trouble with their Vado SL seat tipping backwards: i.e. the front creeps up/back creeps down? On my new Vado SL 5.0 EQ, I've had to have the seat adjusted twice already, since it slips slowly (very slowly) to a slightly front-up back-down position. First time LBS suggested...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Why did you replace the pedals? I'm curious to know what's better (besides the colour, which is great :) )

    Minimum "home maintenance" kit?

What would a minimum home maintenance kit include, for my new Vado SL 5.0 EQ? I am technically and mechanically inept, so I hesitate to post here. But I don't want to have to be dependent on my new lovely LBS for every little thing. I'm willing to learn to do regular (non-technically demanding)...

Where is the speed sensor on the Vado SL?

Hmm. That looks promising. And indeed here it is! Thanks so much.

    Greetings from Toronto

I'm fortunate I waited (somewhat) patiently for the Vado SL 5.0 EQ that I had ordered 8 months ago (September 2020). Though that model isn't yet available at my Toronto bike shop, Specialized's new step-through version appeared here a couple of days ago. Which is an upgrade, for me. Now...

Where is the speed sensor on the Vado SL?

Can someone post a picture of where the little speed sensor is located on/near/about the rear axle of a Vado SL? I am told to wipe it regularly, but I'm not sure exactly where it is. On the brake apparatus? But where? Thanks and sorry if it's too obvious.
