Bosch switch from Performance CX to Speed Motor

My Load 60 cargo bike has the Speed, while my tiny little Tinker has the CX. I wish I could switch them! I’d rather have the extra torque on the cargo bike and the extra speed on the Tinker. Seems like it could potentially be a straightforward swap, except one has a chain and the other has a belt.

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

Thanks for the tip, I hadn’t considered looking for used ones!

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

Thanks! I’ve long been partial to front loading and was actually on the lookout for a regular bakfiets type bike when I discovered the Load. It seemed like the perfect application for electric assist as well as suspension. No trouble riding it at all, and I’ve yet to run into problems with the...

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

I try to choose quality things, take very good care of them, and keep them for a long time! What newbie mistakes should I be worried about? I have lots of experience with bicycles, but haven’t had an ebike until now.

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

Yes, the folding panel is floppy and difficult to prop up, and I worry about longevity. If I had paid full price, I’d have likely returned it. I got a great deal and it is nicely portable, so I plan to keep it and get a rigid one to use regularly at home. Plus I can use both together if the need...

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

I have an Ecoflow Delta and 160W solar panel, and I’m seriously impressed. The often have great deals on refurbished units through their eBay store. I actually decided that from now on I will charge my ebike batteries solely off the solar setup, even when I’m at home, so I can be exclusively...

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

Nice, I recently got a nifty Ecoflow solar/battery setup to keep my ebike charged on camper van trips!

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

I always seek out twisty roads and big climbs, so my suggestions will be biased toward the mountains. See if you find the route for the Sangre de Cristo 600K, part of the now defunct NM Brevet series, basically two big loops out of Taos. There’s great riding in the Gila area, around Silver City...

WTB: Riese & Muller Tinker or Packster 40

Looking for a used Tinker or Packster 40 in decent shape. I’m in New Mexico, but travel to Colorado frequently. Also willing to pay for shipping. Let me know if you’ve got something or know of one for sale! thanks, Ryan

FS: New glovebox/footrest kit for 2020-2021 Riese and Muller Load 60

Do you wish you’d chosen the glovebox/footwell option for your 2020 or 2021 Load 60? I’ve got just what you need! I ordered this from an R&M dealer out of town, but it doesn’t fit my 2019 Load since they redesigned the frame slightly. The shop offered me a refund since it was their mistake, but...

How much deposit to order a new R & M?

Just curious, what’s your estimated delivery? Wait times were growing exponentially when I was looking at getting a new Load earlier this year.

    1/8" cog on Nuvinci hub?

Hi everybody! I have a Riese and Muller Load with a Bosch gen 2 motor and Nuvinci hub. The Bosch cogs are a available in 1/8" width but Nuvinci says to only use 3/32. It seems like 1/8 would last longer and looking at the Nuvinci, there's plenty of clearance for a wider chain. Does anyone know...

How much deposit to order a new R & M?

When I inquired with a dealer in Oregon, USA last summer, I was told $1000 deposit for them to place the order with R&M. I don’t recall now when the rest was due. The same dealer is now asking for 50% up front and 50% when they ship the bike to me, which I still consider to be reasonable. The...

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

Thanks everyone! Yes, it's in really good shape, only 750 miles on the odometer and looks like it. It's big, but handles beautifully. I'm really impressed with how it rides both with a load and without. I had a recumbent years ago with a similarly long wheelbase and steering linkage, so I got...

Rohloff cable management on Load 60

Nice to see this! I was going to get a new Rohloff Load, but then found a great deal on a used Nuvinci (380 hub) model like yours. I’d love to retrofit a Rohloff one day. There seem to be so many different Rohloff models, do you mind sharing the specifications of the hub you used? Same size...

New e-Cargo bike in New Mexico!

Hi everybody! I’m in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA and just bought a used Riese & Muller Load 60 Nuvinci HS with dual batteries :-) It’s my first ebike and first cargo bike. I’ve wanted a cargo bike ever since I learned of their existence, and have wanted an ebike ever since riding my sister’s...
