    That really does suck, sorry for your loss. When I first read in the brochure that the bike had a lock, I thought it would actually take a key to enable the motor or it would stay in some kind of permanent regen mode. I feel that would be a worthwhile feature.

    Aren't the shifter and the remote also attached to one of the brakes? That is, it's possible to change one of the brakes but not the other side. I'm very tempted to switch out the rear brake in any case.
