    2013 Turbo Experiences

Marko, I have a few questions if it is not too much trouble. 1. Did you buy your own interface to the bike or are you borrowing your dealer's? 2. Do you have access to the latest firmware files for each of the bike's systems? Are those the versions shown? 3. Is that the latest diagnostic...

Turbo Batteries - 2013 and beyond

I tested the 691Wh battery in my 2013 Turbo S. The battery did work. However, the light switch on the LCD screen did not work anymore. The switch on the light itself did work though. I don't know if it is a firmware issue on my older model (no updates have been done to it). I did NOT test...

Do the dealers sell touchup paint for the Turbo's?

The closest I have found is nail polish sold at CVS Pharmacy in the USA. The brand is Essie. The color is Geranium. I bought everything at CVS and Target that remotely came close. That is the best match so far.

Specialized Turbo Battery for sale - brand new in Austin TX

I was planning on the 691Wh battery as well since in addition to its capacity, it is the only one that offers bluetooth connectivity and access to the mobile app. I guess I have about 5 days to think about this!

What to check for when buying used...

The mechanic at my LBS is going to Specialized for updated Turbo repair training next week. I will wait until he gets back before taking the bike in. The bike works just fine right now (except for one of the assist level buttons that I removed). I just want the diagnostic report so I know the...

What to check for when buying used...

@Marko This link has pictures about half way down that show what information is available from the diagnostic software. You can see number of charges and battery health. http://secondnaturecycling.com/2015/09/26/further-troubleshooting-the-turbo-s-other-fun-things/ This blog is by a bike...

What to check for when buying used...

@Douglas Ruby I will try to test the 691Wh battery in my MY13 when I take it in for servicing. I think the LBS will be interested in verifying that it works.

What to check for when buying used...

@Marko I just want the option to change to the joystick because repairing the older switch interface is almost impossible. The design uses a metal dome switch that can easily fail. When it does fail, it is locked in a shorting position. I do not know how many spare parts Specialized has nor...

What to check for when buying used...

@Douglas Ruby No, it is the original 342Wh battery. It seems to be healthy based on some riding I did yesterday. I won't know its true health until the LBS hooks it up to the diagnostic software. If the battery health is very low, then I will buy the 691Wh. The assist control is the thumb...

What to check for when buying used...

After spending an entire day trouble-shooting, I determined that the problems were caused by a short in the assist control. Although I was not able to fix it permanently (needs a replacement part), I was able to bypass the problem. That seems to have solved all the issues (knock on wood). Now...

What to check for when buying used...

@Marko He had just put in the new batteries that same day. I am going to try a complete reset of the battery and display tomorrow... Then I will find a Specialized service center that has the necessary equipment and software to check the bike out and see how much it will cost to get everything...

Turbo Batteries - 2013 and beyond

In this post, both the service rep and the documentation indicate that the 691Wh battery will work in ALL Turbos. Also when you read the description of the IOS app, it clearly states all Turbos as well... #23

I got the bike for $1000. It has issues with pairing (keeps losing the connection) and some other problems. I cannot judge the battery health but it holds a 100% charge. I'll take it in to the local Specialized shop and have them take a look and give me a quote. If things don't look good, the...

I checked on the Specialized forums for information on compatibility of MY13 with the 691Wh battery. No information. I will contact support and see what they say. With regards to your range, you seem to be doing quite well considering your battery has some miles on it. I am impressed and...

What to check for when buying used...

@Marko When you had the software bug, it consistently reset the meters EVERY time you shut off the bike? If so, I can check for that easily by doing the same. With regards to the mileage, I assumed that the meter was in the hub motor. It does not make much sense to have the meter in a...

What to check for when buying used...

@Marko There is no way for a consumer to see the charge cycles. I believe it requires a special connector and some Windows software available to Specialized dealers. If I buy the bike, I will take it to one and have them examine it. What parts do you see as having been downgraded? This is...

What to check for when buying used...

JoePah and pxpaulx, The price has dropped to $1,700. If the bike is in mint condition and the battery in good condition, is it reasonable?
