Ariel Rider Rideal Is a Fantastic $1,000 Electric Bike - Hands-On Review

Thank you! This was my first review of an electric bike and it was a lot of fun to put together. I agree that a suspension fork is not needed for this style of bike. It handles bumps in the road just fine without all of that additional weight.

Ariel Rider Rideal Is a Fantastic $1,000 Electric Bike - Hands-On Review

I couldn't agree more. At one point, my budget skyrocketed and I'm glad I came back down-to-earth. I'm getting a ton of pleasure out of this bike and don't see the need to spend more...at least not for my use at this point.

Ariel Rider Rideal Is a Fantastic $1,000 Electric Bike - Hands-On Review

After so much indecision, I finally ordered my Ariel Rider Rideal and have put about 100 miles on it so far--and I LOVE IT. You can check out my full Rideal review here. Happy to answer any questions!

Dost Kope vs. Ride1Up LMT'D = $3k or Under to Spend THIS Weekend

Many of the delivery/assembly issues are worrying me about the LMT'D. But there's much less data/community around Dost. I'm still torn between the two. The battery factor is a good consideration. I see about 900 full cycles for the Dost. Do you know how the LMT'D battery compares? And is...

Dost Kope vs. Ride1Up LMT'D = $3k or Under to Spend THIS Weekend

After several test rides (Yamaha, Gazelle, Bulls), I'm back to my original approx. $2,500 budget. I'd love to indulge on a more expensive bike, but that is not in the cards for a supplemental e-bike. Help me decide...I'm stuck between: Ride1Up LMT'D vs. Dost Kope I really like the mid-drive...

    Ride1Up LMT'd Assembly in NYC/Long Island Area

Can anyone recommend a shop or independent contractor to assemble a Ride1Up LMT'D? I want to be 100% certain the job gets done right...and that will require me not being involved in the assembly. :-)

Is There a Yamaha eBike Comparison Chart Anywhere?

What an amazing reply, thank you! I have done a great deal of research and everything you say is accurate. My issue is finding a Civante in the NY area from a local shop...I haven't had any luck...and the impatient me wants a bike by mid-April. It seems like so far, you are a fan of your...

    E-Bike...Price Range...Climbing...Higher...

VERY good point. :-) Maybe I simply don't love the look of the Gazelle...but I also see the other side...who cares once you're riding it!

    E-Bike...Price Range...Climbing...Higher...

I guess that worries me if I void the warranty...but maybe I'm being a baby about it.

    E-Bike...Price Range...Climbing...Higher...

Every person on the EBR forums who has preached TESTING a bike before buying is 100% correct--thank you! I had a chance to ride the Yamaha Cross Core today, which on "paper," seems to check all of the boxes. And while a lovely bike for the price, I found myself frustrated when the motor cut out...

Is There a Yamaha eBike Comparison Chart Anywhere?

Thanks to the kindness and knowledge of this community's members, I have narrowed down my ebike search to a Yamaha. Does anyone know if there's a handy-dandy comparison chart out there that compares the CrossCore // Urban Rush // Civante? If not, I'll put one together, but I figured I'd ask...

$2,500 for a Lightweight, Class 3 eBike With Manual Gear Shifting: Am I Dreaming?

Yesterday, I took out my old school iZip Skyline to reacclimate myself with e-bikes and help continue to narrow down my list of wants. I'll be checking out the Yamaha Cross Core later today--it checks ALL of the boxes--with the exception of a throttle--which might have to be the sacrifice I...

All great points! Going to check out the Cross Core in-person this weekend and can't wait!

$2,500 for a Lightweight, Class 3 eBike With Manual Gear Shifting: Am I Dreaming?

Thanks for your input and for outlining the recent scenario where Class 3 ruled the day! Every day, I'm learning something new about the ebike world and it's a lot of fun. But I know nothing will be better than just getting out there to ride! Similar to you, I'm looking for a company that has...

$2,500 for a Lightweight, Class 3 eBike With Manual Gear Shifting: Am I Dreaming?

Thanks EMGX for the lead on looking into Yamaha eBikes. I'm really digging the mid-mounted motor (do I need to worry about chain snapping?). And I love the warranty and the motor-reputation of Yamaha. But is this bike worth the approx. $1,200 more when compared with the RadMission? I think...

$2,500 for a Lightweight, Class 3 eBike With Manual Gear Shifting: Am I Dreaming?

WOW! Yamaha. Never even crossed my mind but that bike does appear to check most on my boxes. Will read up on some reviews--thanks!

$2,500 for a Lightweight, Class 3 eBike With Manual Gear Shifting: Am I Dreaming?

Everyone is right about getting caught up in the "Class" speed; absolutely no need for a "3" or possibly even a "2" for my use case. I did not know that front suspension added so much weight--great to know!
