Looking to get a spare Gates belt for my Multicharger

Rear sprocket is relatively easy as well. There's a retaining ring that holds the sprocket. Undo and it comes off. Just did both and a new belt today. Discovered a few teeth on the old belt coming off, just before a trip tomorrow. Glad I checked!

Looking to get a spare Gates belt for my Multicharger

You might want to check the wear on the front and rear sprockets, ideally you should change them out when replacing the belt. I compared my existing sprockets with a new set @24,000 kms and the wear is pretty obvious. Not doing so will likely reduce the life of replacement belt.

Rohloff Speed hubs on E-bikes (Mechanical and E-14) - Discussion

I've got over 21,000 kms so far on my E14 and other than some minor oil seepage in very hot weather all's well.

    Bosch motor average life span.

16 months and over 17,000 kms on my CX based R&M, -motor has not missed a beat. Hopefully if anything goes it'll be before the 2 year warranty has expired.

    Belt replacement?

It caused the teeth to be stripped from the belt. I've used CRC brand a couple of times over the last year with no issue. I picked up some WD40 brand "multi surface" the other day, used it last Saturday, 20 hours later on a test ride before my planner trip the teeth started to strip away. The...

    Belt replacement?

Thanks Got it done couple hours ago, no surprises. Was hoping not to run into some SNAFU which does happen working on bikes, but it all went well and I'm back on the road again. If I hadn't messed up and used a petroleum based silicone spray on the belt I likely would have got another 10K+...

    Belt replacement?

Has anyone seen instructions for splitting the frame when replacing the belt on a Charger3? Can't find anything anywhere on this. On an initial look it appears that the frame split is accomplished via the two large black ( 2 on each side) Torx screws normally used to loosen the wheel when...

Gates Carbon Drive : User Experiences

David, I had a catastrophic failure of my belt at 17,000 kms, but pretty sure it was due to the my use of the wrong silicone belt conditioner the day before half the teeth sheared of. Normally use a CRC brand but grabbed a WD40 instead, not noticing that it has petroleum distillates. Will...

Low Battery Cutout for Bosch Gen4?

I do understand the cutting of the assist when battery is below 10 percent, but when this does occur, I would still like to see the level drop linearity or reflect actual level. As it is now when this level is reached the battery level will drop from the 10% to 1% and remain there. If I do...

Rohloff Speed hubs on E-bikes (Mechanical and E-14) - Discussion

Never mind on the bulk lubricant, found it on eBay at "good" price especially when compared to the kit.

Rohloff Speed hubs on E-bikes (Mechanical and E-14) - Discussion

Add another leaking E14 to the thread after 6 months & 8,500 km. The weather has been warmer than normal which can contribute to some seepage but even after cooler weather the last few days and my second oil change it's still seeping out over shifter body. Might have had 10ml in hub at oil...

    Bosch motor average life span.

R&M E14, 4 months old and over 5,000 kms, and all's well. Did my Rohloff gear oil change at 4,500 and one set of brake pads. I typically average ~16,000 a year but retiring soon so maybe more, or less, will see how it goes. Really do appreciate the belt drive with no chain, cassette, oil...

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

Thanks for the quick response William. I very seldom use anything more than ECO even on steep grades, but over the next few years (and/or if I have to get any more joint replacement(s)) as I hit 70 I'm sure I will be using the higher assist modes.

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

Are there any plans to increase the levels of assist from the current 4 (ECO, TOUR, SPORT, TURBO) to ... more? It might lessen the fielding of requests for adjusting the current levels which this thread has several of and maybe increase user satisfaction.... I'm not sure if it makes sense, but...

    Product Improvement:- Feedback to Bosch.

Deleting multiple "Unnamed Activities"? I ended up with about a 100 of these in my ebike connect app. Would be nice to have the ability to clear them or selectively clearing them somehow, deleting them one by one is nearly a sainthood task. Unless I am missing something.

    Different Lights

Note: I did get information on changing the default "program" for this headlight via the high beam button. So now on power on the light is off, high beam light button will turn it on or high beam, or turn it off again. Just what I wanted.

Stem & headset adjustment on a Delite?

Helps, heck that more than helps! It answers everything, if you don't work for R&M already, then they should hire you. MUCH appreciated. Brilliant Marc!! Works like a hot darn, I never thought of looking for programming for it. This is just what I wanted! I know the bike industry is going...
