    Lectric XP controller issues ?

I'm having exactly same issues as you, random power off, and on when you don't expect it, Also cruise control is hit or miss, it might work, or only for a couple of seconds. Throttle does not give full power sometimes. My hills are not as steep, I rarely use more than PAS#2, and I weigh 170...

Placed order for 2 XP eBikes Aug 27th.

EDIT; due to the following post. yes that 52 volt charger would have been a bad idea.

    Changing motor to 750W

I agree, and it didn't take long to figure that out. To be fair though the same could be said about any legal hub motor. I weigh 170, have hills when I leave home, and hills on the way back. I just checked one using google earth to measure it, over a distance of .67 miles I went up 250 feet, an...

    Lectric XP with out-of-round wheel

@Taylor57, thanks. I wrote back and requested Robbie look at the video, he's the engineer. Surely an engineer can't think that is OK. My research, the videos I watched etc. also indicated a good company...maybe now they have sold enough bikes they are caring less ?

    Lectric XP with out-of-round wheel

@ myers830, no I don't believe that is normal. In fact I can't believe that someone would be so sloppy with an otherwise nice motor, not to take a couple extra seconds to line up the motor in the lathe or jig and cut the freewheel threads straight.

    Lectric XP with out-of-round wheel

My lectric xp arrived with a rear wheel 1/8 inch out-of-round. A pretty bad freewheel wobble too, but that's not the main concern. The out of roundness causes the bike to very noticeably hop at cruising speeds. I jacked the bike up, and made a short video, here; and sent it to lectric. Got a...

Lectric Bike XP light will not turn off

Wow, like to argue. Hardly a random link. Riese & Muller are two engineers, well respected, they design, and successfully sell their own e-bikes. Most would agree their word has some clout. To quote this website "The company sells a full line of sport, commuter, cargo, and utility models that...

Lectric Bike XP light will not turn off

Not knowing where the numbers came from, or how they were arrived at, and then parroting them as your argument is NOT logical. Again the light on the xp is not a high power unit, it's more for safety. From Riese & Muller website https://www.r-m.de/en-en/technology/safety-technology/ All their...

Lectric Bike XP light will not turn off

Funny how some people like to tell others how wrong, or "way off" they are, yet offer nothing themselves except to suggest visiting some website, and do you own research. OK, the headlight on the Lectric xp is described as not being very bright, Court said in his video review. I have a bright...

Lectric Bike XP light will not turn off

The good news is the led light probably only draws a couple of watts, way less than one percent of your "average" E-bike use. I doubt very much you could notice a difference in battery life whether the light is on or not. I just looked it up for the heck of it, most LEDs have a maximum...

should i buy a smarter charger??

That is precisely the info I've seen on the site selling the "smart charger" Show me a link without bias ? And no it's not 60% "as I've said" it's the top half of the battery has the most power. (smiley face) try going up a hill full throttle with one battery bar left. Maybe you'll catch on.

should i buy a smarter charger??

You don't need to be a professor to know that a pack is only as good as it's weakest cell. So by not topping up, and balancing a pack means you are NOT getting out of it what you can. apparently a few people only travel short trips, and a partial charging is satisfactory for them.

should i buy a smarter charger??

If you only charge your battery to half it's capacity, then you "should" get twice the cycles, but your going half as many miles per charge, so in the end either way will take you the same (approximately) amount of mile per battery life cycle, again I ask whats the point ? The three major...

should i buy a smarter charger??

I have a few thoughts on this "theory". If the point of charging to only 80% is to get a few more cycles, OK lets say for a moment that it does work, and you get 20% more cycles with the same amount of capacity remaining after say 800/1000 cycles, I say what's the point ? You no doubt got less...

Finally finished my new fat bike build!

He saved 1.9 pounds, to me not worth the effort, plus tubes add some protection from flats. Tires are pretty thin these days. I actually like the heavy duty tubes. I used to have a lot of flats esp. on the rear, till I put in the heavy duty tubes, none since on old bike. The Kevlar tires are...

New to this - asking for help!

Yes Robert it is good on trails, and on pavement. I go on dirt roads and trails too, mostly old rail beds. It's tires are 2.3" wide, and before the fat bike craze, that's all any mountain bike had. EDIT, and about the range, the 780 miles I did on 25 charges, that's an average of 31.2 miles...

New to this - asking for help!

Robert hi, Here is one other suggestion. Biktrix Stunner (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) It's a cruiser, $1900.oo, cheaper than townie go, and will have more hill power than the Interceptor, your 2 choices in the first post. I got one of the first ones this year, have 780 miles on it since...

    Stunner vs. Juggernaut

Yes it (STUNNER) does have quick release (sorry I abbreviated it to QR above) wheels. Your 12 mile commute will be able to do in assist level 2, and 3rd gear in one hour exactly. I didn't notice this before as I hardly ever use throttle, but today I put it in power level 5 and hit throttle it...

Biktrix conversion kit on a folding bike

if it's a 3 piece crank it "should be" the right diameter, the length of the BB should be 68-73 mm. And it will work.
