Cube 500 Tourer re-setting jumped chain and chain guard tip + displaying selected power mode..

On my birthday last summer I've spent more than 1 hour trying to free my chain that had been stuck between the protector mount and the chainring. All this with 37 degrees and in direct sun. I finally managed to do it and then did 97km ride :)) Your post reminded me that I have to remove the...

    New additions to Kathmandu EXC

This "older" style of rack is available for sale from Cube. I'm thinking about replacing my 2021 one that has no lower rail with that.

    Cube vs Cube vs Cube

I told you how this is possible on my last post above! The upper mount is movable between two positions covering both batteries! Its not only Cube doing that, and I actually find it a very clever solution. I can send photos of mine if you want to see what I mean.

    Cube vs Cube vs Cube

As Cube is using mostly the same exact frame on each series and type, by comparing two identical frames, one with 625 and the other with 400 (same like 500) I can see they just use different positions to mount the upper lock, extending it for 625 and shortening it for 400/500. The position for...

    Cube vs Cube vs Cube

That's the reason I provided some of my range numbers with the related ascending. Only the original poster can balance his needs and plans. When I initially got the ebike I was thinking that rides close to 90km with be the maximum limit on my (road) terrain. After 2000km I now see that even...

    Cube vs Cube vs Cube

This is what I was trying to say. That the 500 battery should be more than sufficient. And in these specific frames the 625 battery seems retrofittable by moving the battery mount. But the 500 should be more than enough for normal commuting over a week.

    Cube vs Cube vs Cube

Its almost certain you don't need the CX motor. The Gen3 Performance will be more than enough whatever hills you might have. If you click on my username and check my posts you will see more than a few posts about my experience with a 2021 Touring EXC using the Gen3 Performance motor. Too many...

    Bike for my wife?

Clipless pedals help a lot on that part. But I can understand that it's not everybody's cup of tea. I use clipless on all bikes since 18 and cant even pedal on normal pedals anymore. Either crunching standing with 40rpm or fast pedaling up to 110rpm is not an issue. You can train her to pedal a...

    Bike for my wife?

Of course, always the best option for drastic changes, either up or down.

    Bike for my wife?

the 65nm motor (Performance Line Gen3) is climbing vertical challenges of more than 16% with ease, even on Tour mode. Sport and Turbo are ridiculous, as you climb like a rocket :)

    Bike for my wife?

55-60 is quite slow for any electric motor. As PDoz suggested, the main thing is gearing. If she is eg on a 9speed transmission a larger cassette with 12speed will provide an increased range that will help finding the correct cadence. You should both start rpm on 65 or more. These motors are...

Update from R&M: they too have lowered their declared gross weights to around 140kg for the non-cargo bikes.

2021 Cube Reaction Hybrid Performance 500 eMountain Bike

Thank you! According to Cube, the maximum structural weight of those frames is 135kg. This includes the bike, the rider, any backpacks and accessories like lights, waterbottles, etc So you will be way above that. I will look for their official weight guide but I think that Cube has no model...

Bosch Active Line Plus vs Performance Line

I still have the adjustable Satori Up2 Plus stem I removed from my Touring EXC after a few rides. It's in mint, actual new, condition. It is very robust and sturdy, no flex at all. But as I wanted to lower my front a lot I had to replace it with a straight stem. I don't see any reason to keep it...

    Purchase advice please

The capacity can and will be increased as you train more and more. If your storage goes empty after sort intense efforts then you will have to include more on that on your training. Similar with medium tempo long efforts, etc. The support from the eBike can be a great motivational boost to...

    Purchase advice please

Even eBikes are better when fitness is high though. Especially respiratory condition. Leg power will come more or less with the increased km and some good nutrition. If you still smoke, QUIT! No better gift will ever be gifted to you!
