Mission Control no longer shows firmware versions and update version numbers...

Evidently a newer version of Mission Control was released a few days ago. It seems to have fixed the problem of not showing the device firmware versions...It looks the shop did not install the latest Range Extender firmware... I don't see a way to see the version number of Mission Control in...

Mission Control no longer shows firmware versions and update version numbers...

Indeed, when I disconnected the range extender the device updates page was populated. Of course there was no info displayed for the range extender. ( Not even the name). Thanks for the fix...

Mission Control no longer shows firmware versions and update version numbers...

Several months ago my Vado SL 5.0 showed that firmware updates were available.... I ignored the problem and recently I noticed that Mission Control was no longer showing ANY data on the firmware version screen.I took the bike in for a checkup and firmware update. The shop said they could see...

    A thousand curses on Garmin

I got this from Garmin this afternoon... This was my response. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How incredibly lame! I have a Garmin 830 bike computer that collects all of the useful information for the now disappeared "Insights" options on the 830. IT WORKED FINE UNTIL DECEMBER 2021! What...

    Whoops I did it again...

Crikey, probably my last ride of the year and I over cooked a tight corner that I have traversed hundreds of times. I wound up on my back on a nice soft patch of grass with the bike more or less on top of me. I traverse the street counter clockwise. The only damage was to my pride because my...

How does torque factor into drawing power from the motor?

Most of the discussions that I have read on this forum about how the power is supplied to the system seem to involve using a high cadence. I have reached a certain age where I can no longer pedal at a high cadence. My average seems to be stuck in the mid 50's where I can average 14.4-16 mph...

    Whoops I did it again...

Wow, The 'use the kickstand to lift the rear wheel, then use the walk button and shifter to move up and down the cassette' to be a great hack. Thanks!

    Battery/Range strangeness...

Earlier this year I bought the Extender Battery for my Vado SL 5.0. After a bit of trying stuff out I settled in to running in Sport mode all of the time and I was able to get about 75 miles of range with about 20 percent of the total battery charge remaining. Most of my rides are from 20-26...

    Whoops I did it again...

On my last ride I noticed that the front handlebar bag was becoming undone from the handlebar. I stopped and tightened the straps and then tried to resume my ride. I set the power mode to Turbo and when I tried to resume the ride I could not get enough forward speed to stabilize the bike and...

One year with Vado SL 5.0...

My Vado SL 5.0 was delivered to me on Sept 4 2020. Today, one year later, my Garmin stats showed: Rides: 145 Distance: 2776 miles Time: 194:13:58. Small Trunk Bag Recommendation

I use a very old 'doop kit' and hold it in place with a rubber cargo net.

My Creo (and other bikes probably) has a clutch on the rear derailleur and I did not know it

When my Vado SL was relatively new I tried to downshift while starting up a hill. The chain slid down and fell off the rear gear cluster and got wedged between the cluster and the chain stay, bummer. I was able to get the chain back onto the cluster but it was a lot of work. I took the bike...

    Range Extender Turbo Vado SL

The Y does NOT take twice as long to charge both batteries. 3.5 hours MAX to charge BOTH batteries from a low charge level. If you are going to use the range extender battery I strongly recommend getting the Y cable.

    Vado SL Rack Question

Salsa makes a seat post adapter that facilitates adding a rack to a Vado SL 5. My LBS had a Topeak Explorer in stock. Here are some pictures:

    Vado SL Compatible Garmin

Ebike field does offer support for the range extender. I have my Vado SL set to draw down the batteries at the same percentage. When both batteries are fully charged Ebike Field shows 100%. When the Ebike field shows 50% Mission Control will show both batteries at about 50% and the TCU lights...

Firmware Update and Mission Control Problems...

Hey, the current version of mission control seems to be better behaved, It now actually displays current and latest firmware versions rather than no data. It is showing me that my range extender battery needs a firmware update, so i guess it is back to my LBS for another try....

First Vado Flat is a Mystery

I got a 'flat' once because at the time I was using 'Dust Covers' over my presta valves. I inflated the tire before a ride and forgot to screw down the presta valve screw. When I screwed on the dust covers it pressed down the presta stem. I only got a block or so before I noticed that I had a...
