When i initially went from 40T to 46T ya had to add but this was a brand new chain so we just removed the extra ones and used the magic link. Looking to get the Surly one steel rather than aluminum for hopefully better durability. I've since changed chains 3x and chainring twice and cassette once.

I was wondering if someone knew what the largest chainring we can use with the CC, I currently have a 46T and one of the tooth broke off (aluminum) so I'm looking to get a steel one but wondering if I could go with a 48T. Thanks!

The issues I've had may be particular to my riding style and terrain, I ride faster than I should, mostly on paths and occasionally uphill, here are the list of things: Charger failed but Frey replaced it (air shipped a new unit free after providing proof), wouldn't charge to 100% and battery...

One of the biggest issues I've had with the CC is the shifting. I've had to change the cable twice, constantly adjusting the tension and doesn't shift properly so looking at a wireless solution and was wondering if anyone has tried the Archer DX1 on their CC and how it performs? worth it?

Ya every place I called for brake pads didn't carry the Magura's I needed except this high end e-bike only shop near my area so bit the bullet, but my next one will probably be the Kool-Stops, I was told they were a good after market manufacturer for half the price. I asked Frey and seems...

I got my spare parts from Amazon, other online stores and locally in my area if they had stock but some didn't have parts like for my brake pads, had to go to a specialized ebike store and paid premium.

So I've put around 4,500km on my CC so far and here's a long term update. Ride mostly on flat bike paths. - Changed cassette due to wear on the lowest cog resulting in chain skipping - Battery charger failed (Frey sent a replacement) - Shifting issues, replaced cable worked for a while but...

Received the NEW charger from Frey and its charging normally now. Turns out the issue was indeed with a faulty charger. I'd owned the bike for around 5 months but Frey support was quick and sent me a new one in about 2 weeks.

Ya that's the thing, I hardly used the second battery, so i'm hoping its the charger.

Should I measure the voltage on the charger or battery? it used to charge the batteries to 100% then all of a sudden both batteries only charge to 88%... I'll try measuring the voltage on the battery, thanks.

I have 2 batteries for my CC but have only used one of them to date, it's been 4 months now and noticed the battery only charges to 88%. So I tried charging my spare (NEW) battery and again only charges to 88% even though I've hardly used it. I reached out to Frey and they're sending me a new...

    CC Upgrades and options.

Upgrade the chainring to a 46T and maybe more robust cassette as I found chain skipping after only a month. https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/deorelx-t670/CS-5700.html https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/products/130-bcd-cyclocross-chainrings?variant=14782015275043

For those who want an affordable hitch rack for your ebike. I found this type of platform rack used for motorcross/cycle style but perfect for ebikes. Bought it used for $130 plus a couple or ratchet straps is all that's needed. I have a 1 1/4" hitch so I had to customize to fit but rack is...

    Affordable Ebike hitch rack?

I've researched for quite a while as well and all the traditional bicycle racks are quite expensive or do not support e-bikes which weight over 70lbs so the best solution I've found was the motocycle/motocross style platform racks which costs $200 new. Then add 2 ratchet straps is all you need...

Ya, saw on the FB group someone broke their aluminum chainring so I think you're right, metal is the way to go, I'll def checkout the metal cassettes. Rode this morning on the second highest gear and less skipping so perhaps you're right about the premature wearing of the last cog, but less...

Upon further investigation, the problem appears to be chain skipping over the SAME cog. This only happens on heavy load while pedaling and using throttle. I found a video of someone having similar issue here the sound of chain skip is identical to mine: I was wondering if anyone else has had...

One thing I did do was move the gear shifter on the handlebar about an inch left of the right handle cuz it was interfering with my grip, could this have caused the cable to tighten and cause the skipping?>

No I haven't, its my 5th time riding the bike so the chain and chainring are stock new. All I did was make changes to the controller (changed the throttle to high power regardless of PAS level) perhaps that might have stretched something? I've relubed the chain with Finishline. What's...
