My Como has the same kickstand and lately, it had been easily falling over as if the kickstand was too short! So I took a look and discovered a piece of the plastic end had broken off. I wish it were adjustable. I’m going to look into the one GuruUno mentioned.

Some photos of twisting the display and removing the battery. I see a USB-B micro port in there. I wonder what that is for.

I was able to pry the battery out with a small flat screwdriver. The battery went flying though!

Yes, it was easy to get to the battery - just twist the display 90 degrees and it comes off the bike, then I used a flat screwdriver to pry open the battery access. I replaced the battery and all is well. Thank you all for your help. I took it in for the firmware update too and they charged me...

Or it might cost $30 like it just did for me! I wish there was a way to do it myself. I update the firmware on my work drone, why not my e-bike?

Thanks! It is odd that the mileage is retained. Oh well. I'll try changing the display battery. But I'll also take it to the LBS to get updated (and drool over the newer Como models).

Wow! I love the new look. I have a Como 5 that I bought in July 2020 and I definitely prefer the design of your wife's. The battery is difficult to access on mine because of the downtube (see photo). Though I do love my Como. It is a great car replacement!

I just wanted to post an update since I'm new to this club too. I have my Ibera rack installed and panniers attached. I'm so excited! I've had the panniers for at least 15 years but they happen to match the Como so well.

I have the Como 5 and I thought they were pretty similar, though I see they have different shifters. On my bike, the indicator is on the right near the shifters. The indicator has a red bar on it in this photo and it moves left for higher gears and right for lower. Still have to guess a bit...

Thanks for the heads up on the Kuat Transfer. My partner has a Specialized hitch-mount rack, not sure which model, that maybe will work better. Fortunately, I won't have to carry it on a car rack very often!

There is very little clearance for the attachment points on the battery cover - about 1.5 inches. I was hoping to put a folding lock there, but I don't think one will fit. The Foldylock Compact is apparently 1.5" when folded up and not in its case and the case probably adds another 0.75" or so...

Picked up my Como 5.0 on Saturday. Didn’t really fit in my rack very securely (Kuat Transfer 2), so I ended up putting it inside my car for my 6 hour drive back home. I am in love! I picked up an 18” pizza today and used bungees to strap the box to the pizza rack. Worked great! I’m looking for...

Well, the Kuat Transfer does not work well with the fenders on the Como. I ended up having to put my bicycle inside my car to transfer it from Denver to Durango in Colorado. It will take some modification to the wheel tray to make it work. If I come up with something that works, I’ll post here...
