lo batt error / motor error

That is true, seen it before but: I didn't have a new CR1220 so I took the one from my wife's 2018 Como 3 TCU that was working fine. I put it in my Como 4, no change. I took the bike battery from her bike and put it in mine. Everything worked fine. Replaced both TCU batts and put a few miles on...

lo batt error / motor error

Upon further review: My Como 4 (2020) showed the same "lo batt", "no motor" last night so we did not ride. I had just charged the battery overnight, in garage, on both bikes (one 2018 Como 3), no crazy temps. Both bikes showed full batts on app (healthy) and the 5 lights at the on/off switch...

    dog carriers, maybe trailers

We have a shoulder carry bag thing for our small dog, Pickle. Video attached. (Well tried to but unsupported or too big, or something else. Really?) It's not why we bought the bag, just works ok for a bike ride. He seems to really like it. Only seen a couple dog carriers on this site/forums...

    Vancouver BC hotel/riding info request

Next week heading to Vancouver BC then to Victoria with our granddaughter. We have Ebikes, she a regular bike. That's because we are late 60's, she is 10. We've hear that the Stanley Park area, seawall area, are fun rides and it looks like they have spent some time and money making ways for...

lo batt error / motor error

This just in: Did not ride the bike for a long time. Daughter in law did though. Failed twice, reboot to run again, made it home. Initially the LBS had said they weren't really sure exactly why it failed before, just did all that stuff, ran fine. They ran info, stored data, linked to...

lo batt error / motor error

Upon further review: Took both to LBS for winter service on new bike, diagnose older (with motor err - lo bat). They said it lead them to a torque sensor issue, probly dirty, s'pose they cleaned it. Not really sure where that would be, aware of cadence mag sensor but thinking that might be...

lo batt error / motor error

Didn't go to that level but will try. Blew out with compressor from safe distance, sprayed, let dry, sprayed again, blew that out. Gonna try the wipe off as well. LBS off for long weekend. Got firmware and winter service to have done anyway. Might just load em up and get that done. Will advise. Tks!

lo batt error / motor error

Was a good try. Same resuts. Also tried display batt from good bike. Then I got "motor error" and "timer", just the word "timer" not "batt timer".

lo batt error / motor error

I'm off to the store for some plastic friendly contact cleaner per Sierratim. BUT..on a older como 3 and new 4: removed batts for charging to house as it became winter in garage. Put fully charged batts back in bikes today for possible ride, intermittent motor on/off then those errors, then no...

    Torque wrench to assemble necessary?

You'll probly notice that if you remove any factory installed fasteners they will have a "loctite" type of stuff on them. Most quality accessories that include fasteners will have it on them already. I encourage the blue loctite.

odd drive engagement switching sport to eco

Ref Como 4: I ride in eco (assist mode) 95% of the time. Each of the last few rides I've been in a spot where I change to sport mode to make a hill. After making the hill I switch back to eco and continue on. Immediately after changing back to eco the drive feels like it's off, like I have no...

    Torque wrench to assemble necessary?

Most/all parts you'll be working with will be aluminum. Not much flex with aluminum. Basically it breaks. Thus the torque allowed is critical especially if you're working on a bike under warranty. The proper tool is a good idea. I went with the Topeak Lite NTX and the Pro Bike torque wrench...

    Unusual chain/sprocket wear?

I did tighten cable slightly. Smoother now. Awesome. As I look at that cassette pic from sierratim I see that my semi-clean unit does look just like it. I also looked at a picture of a new chain. Looks just like mine now. Apparently they are built in a way to make it all work together. Once...

    Unusual chain/sprocket wear?

Will look at derailleur mount first. Upon further review as I stared at the teeth long enough I did notice some seemed intentionally different. Apparently for a reason. Very clever. Cable stretch makes a difference too. Funny how I didn't think of that as an elevator mechanic. Cable stretch is...

    Unusual chain/sprocket wear?

I think I was mostly reacting to the biggest gear. Just wasn't expecting anything but clean looking teeth and saw a few that looked a bit hammered. Lots of wear on chain plates/links that made it look like it struggled to get to next gear. This all may be normal, thus the question. I have had...
