Anyone here joined the National Bike Challenge?

I signed up; I should be good for 60 to 100 miles a week. The challenge website seems pretty wonky though...

    Does anybody use their throttle?

On the RadWagon, I use the throttle on downhill stretches to keep the regen from kicking in and slowing the bike. If you are going too fast to pedal its either that or "token" pedaling. Also on those downhill runs where you DO want the regen, it seems seems to kick out after a time and you have...

    RadWagon Observations and Reports

I think the overall performance is more than acceptable given that it did the 5% grade at 14 mph, and top speed was closer to 24 than 20. A person could change the controller to get more watts though the motor (sacrificing the smoothness of the included sine wave controller and the reliability...

    RadWagon Observations and Reports

Since RadWagons will be popping up like weeds around the country over the next few weeks, I thought I would open a thread to share observations and information about these new bikes. I picked up my RadWagon Thursday evening at the Rad Power shop (more workshop than retail shop) near Fisherman's...

    LCD display opinions?

Yes, the Cycle Analyst will limit by speed or amps or remove that limitation. There are a bunch of other technical settings that need to be set to get the limits to work smoothly. You can download the manual from the ebikes.ca website. The v2 unit is simpler, but I believe you need the v3 if you...

    LCD display opinions?

The King meter display is very useful, but you might consider a CycleAnalyst v3 from Grin in BC (~$155), which allows you to customize your power train. High geek factor however, so be prepared to study and experiment if you go that route.

    Anyone get Radwagon?

Yes, I picked mine up yesterday and rode it to work today 9.4 miles each way (I'll have a report tonight after the return trip). They were shipping up a storm on Thursday, and looked like they probably started Tuesday or Wednesday, so if you are in the first batch, you should have it soooon...

Folding eBike Suggestions for a Technomadic RV Garage?

I like the looks of that SSR Trail Viper, it's rated to 280 lbs, it's priced well, and there is a dealer in Albuquerque near where you are. I would't discard the fat bike idea for lack of needing off-road capability; the balloon tires work as suspension as well. LOBO SCOOTERS Approximately 54.5...

    The winter is coming ...

I used to use this stuff on my boat. Developed by Boeing for use on aircraft. They don't show it in the video, but it works great on electrical connections.

Battery charging tips for electric bikes

I have a tip for ya'all... there is a gizmo you can buy on Amazon called a "WiTenergy Bluetooth Smart Electricity Usage Meter and Timer" (about $35) that has some great battery charging applications. It measures AC voltage, current, wattage, power factor, and frequency, and is programmed by a...
