Asher, I agree 100%. I'm not faulting Rad for their go-to-market strategy. I believe that the 6 Plus marks a change and proprietary "protects" the brand.

Battery and controller integration into the frame makes it more difficult to change to aftermarket. Tooling costs, etc.

I have the Rad Rover 5 and did the Bolton hub, controller, and display upgrade. Hydraulic brakes, too. The new 6 is designed to make it difficult to upgrade outside of the Rad ecosystem. Aside from the hydraulic brakes I don't see this as a big step forward.

I just ordered two front racks for our RR5’s and the parts bag for each is missing the bolt and washers that attach the light to the underside of the rack. Rad only provided 4 bolts to attach the rack to the bike. Bummed and now waiting for Rad to send the missing parts. Anyone else have the...

Hafney is very similiar to the Rad mirror. Neither is the type which attaches as an insert into end of the handle bar.

We've had our RadRover 5's for 2 months. My wife is 55 and 5'7, and hates getting on and off. It's been really tough for her; hip issues, etc. Consequently, I've ordered the RadRover Step-Thru 1 and waiting for it to arrive. Will be selling her RR 5 afterwards.

The Rad Rover 5 with the Bolton upgrade should make it work on hills, even those in SF.
