    E-bikes for Kids

So now that I ride my e-bike everywhere my family can't keep up or go as far when we do family rides. Has anyone built and e-bike on a kids frame? I have an 8 yr old and a 10 yr old. I was thinking I could build them bikes for Christmas. I have a BBSHD on a fight tire bike and its been...

    Fat Bike W/ BBSHD updates

@RoyL as far as I can tell the new controller is more accurate but I have no way to check it or compare it to anything else. I haven't tried to re program it but I do have a programming cable. What would you change anyways? Can I eliminate the top speed governor without messing anything else...

    Fat Bike W/ BBSHD updates

@George S. yes the original dolphin pack I ordered died on me. They sent me a new shark pack that has been holding up great. No signs of losing capacity. I just got the new display from Luna and after my 17 mile ride this morning in pedal assist 5 averaging 26 mph in the wind with about 15 extra...

    Fat Bike W/ BBSHD updates

Alright I've logged over 2,000 miles since I built the bike. Today I installed the new luna cycle full color screen and it has been a nice upgrade. This bike has been an amazing source of transportation with me. I typically commute at least 4 days a week and ride 35-40 miles a day. I don't know...

    Fat Bike W/ BBSHD updates

Ok I changed my 4.5 snowshoe tire to a 3.5 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OZQY9GQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_2&smid=A1X8KAYHCNUGEZ I feel like I need a higher gear now because the bike rolls so much easier. I was worried about self steer but with the PSI at 30 it doesn't seem...

How to pick a bike for Bafang BBSHD

I love my bike direct night train bullet! It was on the higher end for cost but when all put together it came out to the cost of the izip sumo but is way better. I love the front suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and tubeless ready wheels. I also hear of people complaining of their chain...

Help...Deciding on which dongle to buy..

It sounds like the ASA espeed affected smooth shifting but how about the "Bikespeed-RS, "Speedbox-2" how do the bikes shift with those systems? I bought two e bikes for the price of one from crazy lenny and one has a Bosch motor the easy motion bosch cross. I currently have a fat bike BBSHD...

Commute bike 12 miles Marin to SF, hilly

Thanks for the update. Maybe consider getting the green button which will cut the motor when you tap it to shift. Luna should be able to replace the keys. That's a bummer the battery doesn't fit I think tou should drill through the battery tray before drilling the frame to make it work. It is a...

I paid for an app called cycle tracker. I wanted something that gave me average speed, elevation, and overall time. I would also like to see my top speed but I haven't messed with the app very much to see if it does that.

@Alex Smith you will not be disappointed with the BBSHD. Great point on the lights. I spent more money and did the Supernova e bike lights and wired them directly into the battery. Best decision ever! I love not thinking about them dying out on me. I press one button and the front and rear...

Commute bike 12 miles Marin to SF, hilly

For my situation I had to have a fat bike because of the snow. I also wanted a bike that could do 28 mph + At the time the izip sumo was the only class three fat bike and it was close to the same price of my DIY BBSHD build. My bike is 100 times better than the Sumo. I have Rock Shox front fork...

Commute bike 12 miles Marin to SF, hilly

@Alex Smith I rode the turbo x for a few days and the 27 mph cut off was too frustrating for me. I'm use to going higher speeds on a regular bike. The BBSHD from luna has a 750W stamp on the bottom even though it's a 1000W motor that should help with your legal concerns. I highly recommend going...
