Known Issues & Problems with NCM Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Like Blueskyca said, the headlight cable was tucked up behind the grommet in the frame. If it's tucked back to far, you could take the battery out and then the mating battery socket assembly out (3 screws) and find it. The whole replacement light connector, battery male pins and controller...

Known Issues & Problems with NCM Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

A minor connector failure on my Moscow last week. The socket that supplies the headlight went intermittent and then failed. A careful check by giving the cable a wiggle showed that there was a break in the cable where it enters the back of the socket where it comes out of the frame. I ordered...

Error Code 02 on Das-kit Display

My NCM throttle has a hall effect sensor. It has +5V, ground and output connections. This took a while to figure out because I tried to measure it as a potentiometer at first and didn't get any sensible measurements. Glenn.

Haha!, VK3YY here, I do a bit of Summits on the Air (SOTA) with the Moscow, it's great on the 4WD tracks or closed to vehicle tracks for summit access.

    U lock mount

An update on the lock mount as per the photo is the previous post. I was on a longish ride through some rough tracks and heard a knocking noise. Some time later at home, I noticed that the lock mount had broken but was still hanging on. The saddle clamp on the other side of the mount had...

Strange wheel building on NCM Moskov

Checked mine, the rear wheel spokes are not touching like the first photo. The spokes are touching on the front wheel with the smaller hub though.

    Add watt meter

This probably seems a little crazy, but I was curious to see how much power the motor uses when it's working hard. So, I got a DC clamp meter, taped it to the bar and ran a loop of heavy gauge wire is series with the battery mating socket. See the photo below. I would not recommend this as...

I picked up a double stand from Decathalon (Australia). Not sure if they are in the US though. https://decathlon.com.au/ The stand seems OK, it's stable enough and has worked well over the past few lockdown travels to the store.

OK, we don't live in a rain forest, although I have taken the bike to the mountains several times now where it is heavily forested and probably quite humid. I hope the moisture doesn't damage the electronics. Have emailed our local dealer to see if they have a solution.

Has anyone had moisture getting into the display? Bike has not been riden in the rain and is stored in the garage. Glenn.

    U lock mount

I use a Giant brand D lock on my NCM Moscow. The swivel mount for it fits on the saddle tube. To release it, it is swivelled out on the vertical axis and then you press the mount release button and rotate it. Works fine and I dont notice it while riding.

Yes that is the Kendo light on the front, it just screws into a hole that is already there. The light isn't too bright though, I ended up putting a much brighter light on the handlebars.

How I bypassed the speed restriction on my NCM 500W/48V Moscow Plus 29er.

Thanks for the welcome, will see what I can put together about the controller override thingy.

How I bypassed the speed restriction on my NCM 500W/48V Moscow Plus 29er.

I built vspadrva's controller override module, it works well. Also modded it to send the motor power readings to my phone. Glenn.
