The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

Finally arrived on July 15th. Quite a few upgrades. Bigger gearing, redesigned XT Deore brake levers, MAXXIS tires and DT Swiss rims and hubs. The rims were already taped which made tubeless setup a snap. They even included a set of tubeless stems. Well packed with only one spoke slightly bent...

No Fair!! I ordered my Motobecane HAL eBoost Elite on February 5th and just got an email saying the container just cleared customs and they may get the bike next week. The shipping range was 20 Apr to 20 May. Huge backlog of container ships for Los Angeles port.

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

True.. It’s only a small rant since I’m riding the Motobecane HAL EMTB Elite I bought last Spring. This 2nd one is for family and friends to use. Still wish they had a better tracking/update system. I blame COVID. I always blame COVID. I hit 5 red lights in a row and blamed COVID.

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

Small Rant. I ordered my 2nd Motobecane HAL EMTB Elite on Feb 4th. The site clearly stated "SHIPS DURING APRIL". When I got the email receipt it showed a shipment range from 20 Apr to 20 May. Well I waited until Mid April to reach out to them asking if they had any more current shipping...

Heres some real world ebike motor data.

My neighbor has the Shimano E5000on his comfort/hybrid bike. He told me that it take a full rotation and 1/2 of the pedals before the motor kicks in. He says it's nearly impossible to start on a hill. Does this sound right or does his need some adjustment or maintenance? I have the E7000 and...

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

My average every other day ride is 9-15 miles up and down with some rock garden stuff. I have the E7000 setup in mid on ECO and low on both TRAIL and BOOST. I try to stay fully in ECO every third ride. Otherwise I’ll use TRAIL up the steep rocky stuff. I charge the battery every 3 rides and have...

Giantsteppin.. I know the 504wh battery will fit but I don’t think the 630wh will. That said, no issues on battery life. I’m on a time crunch now but can give more details later. As I’ve said, I’m waiting for the delivery of my 2nd eboost Elite so I’m a fan..

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

After 1200 miles on my Motobecane Eboost Elite I've ordered a 2nd one. My bike has been awesome and I wanted another so I can ride with my friends and family and not be huffing it on my Giant FS analog bike watching them smiling riding uphill on my EMTB. I currently have the 42cm but ordered the...

    eMTB Options For 2024

BarryS.. I agree that the assembly of bikes is not rocket science, but oh so time consuming even if someone else has done all the legwork of parts compatibility and availability. Especially if you are acquiring all the individual part on you own. Just asking, not judging, have you built a DIY...

    eMTB Options For 2024

I’ve been riding my Motobecane Elite emtb with the Shimano E7000 since April and have 1000 miles on it. This is in no way a low power motor. Been riding with other EMTBers using various motors. I usually ride in ECO mode set (via the app) to the mid range level but with other EMTBers I ride in...

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

I rode today with one of my sons. He had my Motobecane Elite and I was huffing it on my analog Giant FS circa 2001.. I was actually cursing and hating life trudging up those rocky inclines vowing NEVER to ride those sections ever again except on my emtb. We hit 1000 miles on my emtb on this...

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

Billy Kidd.. as you can read earlier in this thread I have the Elite version. Absolutely an awesome setup. The E7000 has more power than you will need unless you are racing against higher powered ebikes going uphill. If you are a mountain biker, you’ll want to stick with the Class I ebikes. They...

The infamous Motobecane HAL E-MTB. I bought one…

I finally identified an annoying little creaky sound that was so intermittent it was driving me nuts. It turned out to be the internally routed rear brake and seat post cables. Where they enter the down tube, it's loose enough for more cable to go inside as I steer from right to left. That...

Also, it's a must if you want to do a proper brake fluid change and bleed. I forgot it came with that, thanks for reminding me. I did a quickie brake bleed just using a Shimano fill cup at the brake and no bubbles even when backing out the free stroke screw. Everything was set great at the...

I see they went back to the previous rear shock design and that 51 tooth rear cassette ring is crazy big. Nice looking update by Motobecane.
