Finally got the Aventon Soltera 7-speed...

I'm probably late to the Soltera party but now I'm here. I think most of the pros and cons are very accurate feedback. No doubt range can be extend greatly going to zero PAS on level ground and coasting on declines. I'm amazed at how well this bike scoots along on not so steep declines. This is...

    Ecotric 26 fattie Display ?

Hey gang....been awhile. I have been riding my fattie beach surf 26er for a few years ( almost 2k mi) and had my first real issue ( battery issue was a battery issue) The S900 always develops a mild moisture "glaze" if I do an early morning ride, however after this recent cold snap it developed...

Where are your favorite places to ride?

Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Fla Greenway: Santos Trailhead. Bellview Fl. This is a 5 star paved trail that is a joy to ride, especially during the week or early morning. So far, although we have seen and big increase in eBikes, it is till a pretty uncrowded space during the times we ride.

Need help sourcing a Full Suspension Fat Bike frame (only).

Its really hard to find frame sets for fatties. I love my Ecotric beach/ snow however the frame it too large. I have looked for non suspended, reasonably priced options so I can simply swap out. I have to agree,it might be better to simply purchase a new bike. I have considered a Dolomite Fattie...

Adding a 1000w Front Hub motor to a 500w ecotric ebike.

I have the Ecotric Fat 26". I have considered this mod and frame change, since the L frame is a too big . I think I could be happy for quite some time with a 2wd fattie (: Micah does a great job with his eBike and battery videos.

Specialized to go to Direct to Customer business model.

You say tomato..... I stand by the header. In my world whenever a manufacturer goes directly into the same market space as their contracted dealer network, they are competing. Im not advocating for dealers btw. I am an online buyer. Of course anyone who now signs a dealer agreement with...

Specialized to go to Direct to Customer business model.

They are offering the option. Not a mislead at all. Essentially they are in competition with their dealer network. Fender still sells to brick and mortar but also online. It begins the downwards spiral ask any Mom and Pop guitar outlet.

Specialized to go to Direct to Customer business model.

Interesting. Fender has gone this route as have others. They must feel their dealers are not providing the numbers or market share they need. Of course they, like other mfgs, couldn't ship. Crazy times for traditional business.

We moved up from a teardrop to our current Aliner Scout ( 12' box). We have towed it over 30k up and over the Mtns out west and east with our Subaru Crosstrek. The comes a time when stand up headroom becomes a must. Since we carry a Dometic 65 freezer/fridge in the back of our Subbie we had the...

    route across the USA

Actually your probably dead on about fundraising, what's new, right? Funny thing is when it come to the Truth being a better story this group has a lot to show if they never mentioned the Great American Route. Repurposed railways , energy company access roads and Greeways, like here in Fl are...

    route across the USA

Was not aware that the R2Trail guys were misleading folks. I do know every complete mile is way safer than shoulder riding some street with cars and trucks. I actually send money to 3 organizations . Rails to Trails, DAV and an animal "no kill" shelter. I do it only because I am so impressed...

    route across the USA

Had no idea that confiscating bicycles was possible considering all the real crime rates are declining....wait, nevermind. Anyway I researched the Great American Rails to Trails project and it looks amazing. Its only 52% complete but I never thought of eBike legality. Anyway if you review what...

What do you HATE about your fat tires?

Ahhhh Fatties vs Thinies, another unifying eBike topic, lol My biggest complaint on Fatties ...the steering seems slow but that could be that my add on offset air forks changed the geometry. The second, $100 per for a decent tire, are you kidding me? Honestly, I ride at like 10-12mph on...

    Camping, Glamping, Bikamping

I have a Swagman eBike Fat-tire rack for 2 on the rear of our 12' Aliner. It moves from the Aframe to our Subaru. On the Crosstrek I can carry my 26 and 20 inch Fattie ( the 20 being a folder). On the Aliner just the 26". Even towing just that the first hitch reciever welded to the bumper...

    Camping, Glamping, Bikamping

That really is the most efficient way to section ride interesting trails, paths etc. Its also nice for exploring say DC or a bike friendly place like it. We are able to keep the folder in our A-frame but my Fattie 26 is always on the "rack", exposed. Once vehicle prices get real again we will...

    Camping, Glamping, Bikamping

I think that eBikes solved the one small issue I had with Vans, like yours, disconnecting power and sewer hosed to go to town. An ebike with a rack and basket or simply a back pack changes all that. Great looking campsite @artdeco.

Why do I always know better?

Hey folks, been awhile. Same debate is raging. My wife and I are still riding our Ecotrek sub-$1000 20" fattie and 26" fattie. I have replaced one controller (sent free by Sandy @ ecotric) and am now ready to get a spare battery for my wife's "folder'. I can spend $250. for a battery or ad $650...

Will 20$/ barrel oil, 1$ /gallon stop people from buying an ebike ?

We just got back from the midwest on our Vaca. There was not a huge varience in pricing thru out the trip. Everyone hovered around $3 for 87/10 gas. I use no ethanol gas that was always .15 to. 20 more. It was a 5500 mile trip and fuel was our major expense. By the way, for all you RV'ers. We...
