It all makes sense now.. this will be on the new Tinkers in short order. Perfect for it, high speed, not as much torque as the gen 4, and little drag due to 1:1 relationship.

Me too. I love my CX Gen 2 Orange Tinker and would have killed for these upgrades. My guess is the 85nm torque update rendered this motor too strong for the somewhat already squirrely 20" wheels, which also precluded R&M from giving a speed model given that the Gen 4 speed is also 85nm. And...

Congrats, makes sense to me! The Gen 3 motor would reduce weight, but the chain ring would increase in size to accomodate the 1:1 relationship, so it would look a little more clunky. It might be the last time to get a HS Tinker :)

I’d say wait for the new one, at the very least the older models might get discounted a bit. However, since R&M is made-to-order I am not sure if this principal applies. I would probably do a 30 mile ride about 2-3 times a week. The S+ does have the automatic shifter, however the Tinker does have the HS option. Will definitely take a trip to Propel when things normalize.
