    What’s your preferred cadence?

I have wondered if anyone has done any testing on how much energy is wasted on spinning fast verses a slower rate. It just seems to me that fast spinning would use and waste considerable energy just keeping the spin fast.

    Rad January funding or close

I didn't get rid of my e-bike but did buy an electric scooter which is governed at 22MPH. I must say I use lots. It is just so easy to just step on , sit on if I wish and do my errands. It may just be going to the mail box which is about 3/4 of a block away, up a hill. It is a toss up with the...

What's holding back the e-bike boom? Research, safety, and bias (article)

I live in the South West desert so weather is usually not an issue bike riding except when it gets to over a hundred degrees and blazing sunshine. Usually it is too hot, too wet, too cold or just so much work (proper attire) for most to get ready to ride a bike just for a two mile ride to get a...

How would you do it? (Tongue weighing)

"Just see how it works behind your bike" Reminds me reading about Edison and the light bulb development. Workers were trying diligently to figure out the volume of a light bulb they were working with taking a long time and Edison said to them "Just fill the damn thing with water and measure the...

bought a gas generator for myLiFePO power station

I am now seeing some articles about Nissan and Subaru experimenting with autos with electric propulsion only to the drivetrain. They have a constant running small gasoline generator on board that runs at an almost constant economical and efficient speed charging the battery. I tam pretty sure I...

Rambo Krusader 2.0 Battery Won't Release?

Just don't force it, get a bigger hammer. It might respond to Silicone or WD-40. Spray it and work it so as to work the spray into it well. You have nothing to lose.

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

I have a R1U with the same brand motor that started doing that at about 1500 miles. It near drove me to drinking. It turns out it was the motor cover must move a bit a bit against the mating surface to the motor because it went away when I squirted some WD-40 on the area where the cover meets...

    street tires on ice

Knobby tires squirm/pinch when they contact the surface so loose adhesion. Sort of like walking on ice, once you slip a bit all adhesion is lost and now you have lost all grip to the surface.

    What happened to good manners

Please and thank you are just plain good manners in my opinion. In days gone by men always removed their hats when in public places, church and certainly while eating in a restaurant etc. We also opened the door for ladies. It looks like some didn't teach their children or just didn't know better.

    Shimano shifters

Maybe something is bent and not lining up properly. I have had three and they all worked fine. I had to bend some parts so components would line up properly. Look straight on from behind the bike to see if all looks lined up and straight and nothing looks twisted.
