The ride is much improved with both mods, and they compliment each other well. My wife has another black XP which is stock except for a softer replacement seat, so it is easy for me to compare. I enjoy riding trails and unpaved alleyways when I can, and having a suspension allows me to go faster...

I ended up reinstalling the front fender onto the suspension fork using some 1 1/2” strap clamps around the forks to create mounting points for the wire arms. I may tweak it a bit but it works fine.

The stock fender is attached at 3 places, a single point at the top and at the bottom of the forks on each side. With a suspension fork the lower part moves up and down so is not suitable as an attachment point. You can “hang” a fender from the top of the fork but you really can’t snug one up to...

This is the one I bought, but they are pretty much all the same. You only need the screw and star nut, not the washer. ONIPAX Lightweight Headset Top Cap & Star Nut with Aluminum Screw. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H2N34PW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tau_0lc3Eb4ADQKJS

I finally got my front air suspension fork installed today- a big thank you to bobn4burton for finding the parts necessary! The only addition to his install procedure that I would include is to purchase a star nut and screw to install into the fork stem. The folding handlebar stem assembly has a...

I haven’t taken it apart yet, but my understanding is that we need a new headset and handlebar stem in order to install these forks. If you don’t want to keep the folding handlebars you can eliminate the folding stem, but I really like that feature.

I received my front forks today, I believe they are the same ones you installed. Quality seems very good, actually better than I expected, and they look good once the stickers are peeled off. I am still waiting on the folding handlebar stem to install everything. The forks are longer than the...

This is where I got mine. Says seller is away, so there may be a delay. I bet you still will get it before the AliExpress parts, though. I am still waiting on forks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/162243744397

I weigh 230 and get nervous once I get too much over 20 miles. If you are somewhat downhill I would think you could add quite a bit to that, though.

So you added a $650 hub motor to an XP? How much do you expect to have in the project when finished? Is it cheaper to add premium elements to a base XP model than build from scratch?

Sounds pretty fishy to me. They did not communicate with me whatsoever, and it seemed like the refund was not coming from them but from AliExpress. I was under the impression the seller does not even get their money until the item is confirmed delivered or a certain amount of time has passed. I...

AliExpress automatically started a refund process when the seller did not ship within a week or so, I didn’t have to do anything but wait. JKlapin was the other seller Bob listed in his post. However, I just checked the listing and the shipping charge has gone way up-it was $21 when I ordered so...

I ordered one from Rubin but they never shipped and I was given a refund after a couple weeks. I ordered another one from JKlapin and that one is in transit now.

The chain and lock together weigh about 8 1/2 lb. I would not put up with the heavy weight on a non-electric bike, but obviously not a problem with the XP.

The only accessory that I have that I am concerned about is the Suntour NCX suspension seat post, because the quick release would allow it to be easily taken (and leave me with an awkward ride home!). I lock that along with the bike.

It’s easy, just need some Allen wrenches to loosen the controls. Getting the grips off is probably the hardest part. I slipped a little screwdriver underneath and worked some glass cleaner under the rubber until I could pull them off.
