    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

I did a full review of the australian model two years ago. The issue with those dongles is not with the garmin or the app but with the fact that above 25km/h (in Europe) the power delivered is divided by 3 or 4. You need to use full power to get any sensation of assistance. So I found it useless...

Another question please. Is this picture the actual product you received from Volabike? It doesn't look like what they put on their website. Thanks.

Hi JBbike, What is the level of power you feel between 25 and 30km/h? Is it the same as below speed limit? I had a SCC dongle and was really disapointed with it as with my Wilier Cento1 the power output fell dramatically above 25. In fact I could only get little help with level 3 (red). So it...

It is the same principle as the two other supplier, hence with the same backdraw, i.e. almost no assistance between 25 and 30km/h.

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

I can only give you my feeling about it. I'm disabled for a couple of years (been crushed by a drunk driver) and lost about half of my previous power. I used to have about 340W AMP before my accident. So now I can hardly pudh higher than 180W. I don't go on very steep climbs, but at 12% with...

No engine will give you 100% of power wathever the speed/cadence. They are all designed to follow a speed/cadence - power curve. This curve may be different by assist level (on X35 3 levels), and each bike manufacturer may choose different curves set up with the same engine. See the Wilier chart...

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

rdv@, the X35 output do not respond to cadence (rpm) but real speed. But this is also depending on the setup of the engine (different by bike manufacturer). On a Wilier your reach a % of assistance for a specific speed that is different by level. Ex: At 10km/h on level 1 you have 40% of max...

The reason why the dongle is not fully effective is simply because as you said, the assist start to decline before the speed limit (23km/h on a Wilier), this is due to the power curves designed by the bike manufacturers (see my post on that topic). So the dongle let the battery providing power...

Yes, above 23 it goes down 2,5% by added km speed and without the dongle there is still something left up t 26. I would be very happy to have the exact same decreasing curve up to 29. That would left 85% of the max power of each level. But it's not the case.

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

I think you didn't read my comment correctly . I did not have any issue with the cable on the battery side. I was pointing out the excess cable on the wheel side (see picture) that cannot be tucked into the hub. On the power issue, it's probably a good idea to have it decreasing gradually...

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

Hello, I'm in France, power is cut at 25km/h in Europe. So getting 29 with the dongle is an improvement. I don't know what it would give on the us models, ask ebikewhisperer. I have provided the wilier power curves graph (for Europe) on a previous post, that's how I know how many watts I have on...

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

I guess we both experienced the same thing. As soon as you pass 25, although you ca hear than the motor is still on, the number of watts you get is cut by two. So if you are at level 2 (125W on a Wilier), between 25 and 29 you will get only around 60 watts, meaning that you have to push hard to...

    Ebikemotion x35 speed limiter "fix"

I got my dongle and rode 3 times with it, here my comments : - It works, up to 29km/h on my Wilier, but - above 25km/h the power supplied is much less than normal (my feeling is 50%), hence useless on level 1 - obviously the km range is less than before as expected (still around 90-100km) -...

Hi eBikewhisperer, any news on Wilier testing?

So, if the dongle reacts differently to the power curve choosen by the bike manufacturer, we need the info brand by brand? What about Wilier, any result so far? Thanks Jeff PS : I posted the Wilier power curves on a previous post.
